He sounds like he's trying very hard to bend his voice to sound like it has that Nashville country 'twang' to it. He's got some skill, but it sounds somewhat derivative (through no fault of his own really, that's just the way country sounds nowadays).

 

But all in all, it's not overly offensive stuff to listen to and I hope he does well pursuing it.

 

At least he's not going all Leann Rimes and trying to drag a bunch of pop into it.
