Some MAME questions

I'm trying to get mane 0.70 (windows) running, but there some things I cant seem to do

 

- How do you load a game using the mame window (when you double click on the mame icon), none of my games are recognised even though they are in my rom folder. The only way I can get them working is to drag them onto the mame icon.

 

- How do you configure a controller? From what I've tried to do there are only a set number of specific controllers already configured.

 

- How do you save a game state?

 

-How do you load a game state?

Sometimes you have to go into the main list of games and double click it the first time you use the game after downloading it.

 

Controller configuration: when you start a game hit the TAB button on your keyboard and it will open a menu where you configure it.

 

I don't know about the rest of your questions.
