PEEKSKILL, N.Y. (AP) - A man was arrested Monday and charged with tossing his baby daughter out a seventh-floor apartment window, police said.

The 10-month-old girl survived the 80-foot fall, crashing through several tree branches before landing on the ground. She suffered only cuts and bruises.

Police said Willie Williams barged into his ex-girlfriend's apartment late Saturday in a bid to persuade her to get back together with him.

Police said they argued and Williams dangled the baby out a window. The mother called 911 and Williams dropped the girl, police said.

``Oh, my God!'' police quoted the mother as telling the 911 operator. ``He killed my baby.''

Williams then left the apartment, grabbed the baby and drove her to a nearby hospital.

Williams was charged with attempted murder, assault and unlawful imprisonment. He was in jail awaiting arraignment late Monday. It was unclear whether he had retained a lawyer.

He should fry.

I'm really glad the baby girl survived. This guy should have the book thrown at him.

I say the punishment should fit the crime. Throw him 7 stories and see if he can survive.

Defense lawyer tapped for his case: "Fuck..."

I'd hate to see how badly beaten he's going to get when he's sent to prison. I'll rejoice to hear of him getting his comeuppance, but I'd hate to see the beatdown.

"Your Honor, as you can plainly see, my client was prevoked by the young girl...oh, fuck it."

I'm with Midnight Express.

Chuck his fuckin ass out of a window 7 floors up. Except make sure it's head first.

Unfortunately, this is happening more and more... to the point where it's not even news.

I agree.

It seems it only becomes news when the mainstream media decide to make a certain story it's darling. Then and only then does it really register as "news".

I love how everyone in this forum is a bloodthirsty sumbitch who advocates cruel and unusual punishment, torture, and infantile revenge fantasies whenever there's a story about some horrible crime happening.

Is this guy a piece of shit? Absolutely. I hope he's sentences to fullest extent of the law. But his punishment should fit the crimes of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful imprisonment, or whichever of the three actually nets a conviction. Anything else is just piling on, and is completely contrary to the justice system.

But his punishment should fit the crimes of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful imprisonment,

So why don't they just have prison guards beat the shit out of him (assault), have his sentence served in the Hole (unlawful imprisonment), and when it's all said and done, then chuck his fuckin ass out of a seventh floor window (attempted murder).

I'm fairly certain I don't really need to answer this.

I know, I know. A little childish fun in CE never killed anyone.

I was attempting to take the thread in a different direction about the media until you and AS no sold it.

That baby surviving is a miracle.

Tom, let everyone have their fun. We're not the ones who are prosecuting this guy.

I wouldn't toss him out of a 7 story building.

I would toss him out a 6 foot high window repeatedly until his goddamn head caves in.

Since Tom isn't a parent I will let his comments go.

You're saying that like it's a bad thing.

I say give him therapy -- maybe he got thrown out of a 7-story window when he was a baby.

Or maybe not...

Oh, being the "Baby Tosser" when he gets to prison will give him punishment enough...check the sig.

Thank you, o merciful one, for sparing me your wrath.

Get over yourself. Being a parent has nothing to do with it. Then again, maybe it does... if being a parent automatically turns someone into a raving lunatic who froths at the mouth and screams bloody murder until blue in the face whenever a child is harmed, then I definitely don't want to procreate anytime soon.

Look closer at my post.

You're a rare exception.

Threads tend to go something like this:

Original poster: posts a news story in which a dog was skinned alive.

Many posters, all tripping over their own feet to be the first to reply: OMG HE SHOULD BE FLAYED ALIVE, SHOT, STABBED, SUBMERGED IN ACID, RUN OVER WITH A STEAMROLLER, SHIT ON BY RABID ELEPHANTS, ELECTROCUTED, DROWNED, THEN HAVE MONKEYS PISS ON HIS REMAINS~!!!!11!!11!!!!!

It's admittedly an exaggeration, but not by much.

And I understand that people are angered by the stories they hear and need to vent a little. But advocating torture, brutality, and cruel and unusual punishment in the handling of criminals just makes people look like lunatics.

What can I say? I'd be the first one to kill anyone who touchs my kid. ANYONE. Family, friends, strangers.

Of course. YOUR kid. That's perfectly understandable. But reading a story about some random child somewhere shouldn't trip your insane switch.

Kids I don't care about.

It was a miracle that the baby's fall was blunted by those tree branches and since the it had been raining the other day, the dirt ground underneath the tree was soft enough to not cause deah or serious injury.

Wow first that dog no selling hit by a car, shot in the

head, and frozen, now babies no selling 80 foot falls.

This reminds me of an old DOS game I played called "Bouncing Babies". The hospital is on fire and they're throwing babies from the top floor and you controlled two paramedics carrying a stretcher. You had to get the babies to bounce three times on the stretcher and into an ambulance.

Good times...

I will say that I did attempt to sway the convo after Tyler's post about how the mainstream media takes stories like this and either buries them or takes the ball and runs.

Then you guys had to no sell my shit. Oh well.
