Guest EternallyLazy Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Just caught a commercial on HBO about Real Sports and the preview they showed was about baseball legend Ted Williams... nothing is said about the WWE is this show going to cover both stories with the major emphasis being put on the Williams story or are they saving the WWE show for another night?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Meltzer has details in his Tues update.
Guest Dangerous A Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Real Sports, a magazine type of show on HBO, has a feature tonight on the high death rate of pro wrestlers. According to Meltzer, Vince pretty much attempts to wash his hands of anything having to do with any wrestling deaths.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Vince really has nothing to do with any of the wrestler death's except deciding to use the zip cord thing for Owen's, but he couldn't have known that would happen. He is always good about sending his wrestlers to rehab and paying for it if they have drug problems.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 oh great...piper's on it... piper needs to never talk....ever This is the guy who has the Frats Tshirt detailing all the wrestlers that have died the past 10(?)years. This is gonna be bad
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 does FRATS stand for something?
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 i dont really know, thats a good question could just be Piper jibberish tho
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 wow....i wish vince could answer it intellegently, and just igve him the all-true facts, instead of looking liek a jackass
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 wait a minute....did I miss it or something? I saw a story on Ted Williams, a story on European Basketball players and a story on Venenzuala soccer. Did I just miss the wrestling segment, or did it not air here? Any help?
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 wait a minute....did I miss it or something? Any help? it was in between the ted williams piece and the euro players piece
Guest Steviekick Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 In Piper's book, he calls all of his fellow wrestlers frat brothers because to him being a pro wrestler is like being in a fraternity because they all have a special bond. The Frats shirt is in tribute to his fallen "frat brothers".
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 thanks. I'll tape the replay on HBO-West.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Actually, Piper's interview was the best part (other than Vince flipping out and slapping the papers of the interviewer in a small fit of rage) of the segment... pretty scary facts detailed throughout it
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When interviewed on HBO by Bob Costas a while back (mostly about the XFL), Vince also went off even more, looking like he may actually strike Costas (which Costas later said he thought was definitely a possibility). Mick Foley asked Vince later if he was in his "evil Mr. McMahon" character or not (and, if so why?), and Vince said that at this point in his life, he's not sure there's a distinction - that even he himself can no longer tell where (or if) the character ends and the real Vince begins.
Guest papacita Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 I just watched the replay...Vince has some serious issues...I'm not sure if he acts that way in order to get free publicity or if he himself is on something and his little outbursts are the result of something kind of roid rage.
Guest jester Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 What Vince need is for some meek-looking reporter to jump on him and pound the living shit out of him. Who would have marked the fuck out if Costas had surprised Vince by low-blowing him and then smack him around?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 I would've. Especially if Vince started crying...
Lil' Bitch Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 Basically, Piper got fired for telling the truth.
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 Anyone know when the next replay is, HBO or HBO2?
