Are you ready for 1 1/2 Hours of Crap? I aint, but here we go, this tape starts 2 weeks afte rWrestlemania and Bret is gone til November. Last week Diesel knocked HBK out after he def. Jerry Lawler.

Nacho mans fallen and he cant get up. "I can doit myself brother." as huckster handcuffs hismelf. Nacho grabs a high heeled shoe from "liz" and hogan takes a chair. The clock each other and both....well.......expire. at 0:45. Is this where all of Hucksters friends come in the ring? Its the FTC man! Ted passes out and its over. ***** comedy, -***** match.

Invetween the Match I switched to WCW and Kevin sullivan & Arn anderson are beating up Hulk Hogan. Remember the Doomsday Cage?! (Shudders). Clips of several weeks ago when Sable becomes MEros manager. Coller Elbow tieup. Armbar to school boy by Mero for 2. Cassidy Armbar with a Mero reverse that ressembles Owen and Casidy returns the move. Mero with a boot an a spinning armdrag. Trip up by Leif and walks into a dropkick. Cassidy eye poke he gets irish whiped with a flair flip and knocked off the apron. Mero teases a top rope move. Double noggin knocker to the New Rockers. Jannetty witha  blind clothesline to Mero. Suplex by Leif from the outside and gos to work with some cheap shots. Clothesine in the corner and overhead belly to belly suplex for 2. Chop to the throat. Running clothesline and Leif tlaks to the cameraman. Snapmare and dropkick to the ehad for 2. We come back with Mero on the floor. Jannetty with a cheap shot and some mounted punches. Baseball Slide by Leif. Hes dancing that 70's stuff that i can;t name. Vince cals hima dork. Ok Rugman. Full Nelson submission by Cassidy. Mero reverses but gets trapped in. Spinning headsciscors and Moonsault over the top to the floor. Chop city. Mero walks into a boot byut catches him with a back body drop. Mero with  a top rope sunset flip for the win at 6:43. Decent Raw Match. **. This is Meros 2 match i think on WWF MNR.

 

-On the phone with Diesel. Highlights from MSG where he attacked HBK, Bret & UT with a chair, and last week on Raw when he clobberd him with his title belt.

 

-Bart Gunn Vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (M$C w/ Ted Dibiase)

 

Who they were/became:

Bart Gunn: Butterbeans Bitch.

Stone Cold: The Ringmaster (WWF), Stunning Steve Austin (WCW)

 

Pre-Attitude Austin but hes still cool. Lockup. Headlock by Bart, Shoulderblock for 2. Side headlock by Bart reversed with a headscissors reversed back for 2. Vince hated Austin THEN. Austin trys to break out to no avail. wrist lock reversed to a headlock by austin but gunn nails a crossbody for 2 and back to the headlock. Billy is out witha  neck injury froma Rodeo says Vinnie. Shoulderblock by bart but austin SAILS Bart over and out. Axhandle off the apron. And my tape cut off!!!! WTF?!? Well, stone Cold wins with the million dollar dream finisher at around 5:00-6:00. From what i saw, *1/2.

 

WWF Monday Night Raw (4/22/96)

 

WWF-Intercontinental Championship Match: (VACANT)

Savio Vega vs. Goldust. (w/ Marlena)

 

Savio won the title last week, but under fishy circumstances so its held up.

 

Savio Vega: Kwang (WWF), Carribean Kid (WWF) (dont ask), TNT (?)

Goldust: Dustin Rhodes (WCW), Dustin Runnels (WWF), TAFKA Goldust (WWF), Seven (WCW)

 

Slugfest to start. Savio irish whip with a clothesline. Powerslam gets 2. Huge Knifeedge chops. Irish whip, goldust with the HARD Punch to the jaw counter. Running splash in the counter and some slaps. Savio trys fighting back but goldie with some body shots. Savio comes back but gets low blowed. Marlena!! Nipples are hard again. Is it cold in their or what? Goldust SO RULED. He pounds on savio whos sleeping drunk in the corner. Kick to the legs. Vince & Jerry talk about the Carribean  Kid incedent. goldust working over the leg. Grapevine leglock. mike Chioda looks different AGAIN. Savio gets his ass beat a little more. Rear chinlock by Goldust. Vega savios up but Goldust sits on him. Camel clutch by Goldie. Warrior rambles on in the left side of the screen. Hes takin by the Warrioramaniacs or somethin. PSYCHO. Vega with a low blow. Big Daddy Bitch vs. HBGay is this sundays main event. Match is starting to drag badly. Marlena is hot! Savio blocks the posting and uses his forc to hit goldust head into it. goldust with the um....10 punches fof doom which is blocked after 3 and a clothesline savio. Splash by Savio but goldie gets the knees up. Match is over?!? WTF!!! Thats it. DUD. I was gonna go * but shit happens. Goldust wins after Austin hits savio with the million dollar belt. Match was 9:02 by my clock.

Highlights of Vader beating down gorilla Monsoon & Yokozuna, breaking his leg. They caried him awy on a FORKLIFT! WWF Merchandise! Ultimate Warrior T-shirts.

 

Warrior quote: "You must show no mercy, nor have any belief in how others judge you, for your greatness will silence them all." Atleast you can understand it.

 

Backto the match. Vader opens up with his signature punches. Sunset flip, Vader misses the sit down and Fatu connects with a clothesline and shouldetackle. Running bulldog by Fatu. Top rope splash is no sold and Vader hits the clothesline with a 360 spin for good measure. Vader goes up top. Vadersault!!!! Its over for 3 at 1:50. DAMN. Fatu got killed with one move. I saw that move in WCW, so it aint new. 1/2*.

 

-highlights from Germany. A long clip show of Bulldog attackin gJake roberts after his match with Owen Hart.

"Makin' a Difference" Fatu vs. "Slammy award Winning" Owen Hart (w/ Jimmy Cornette)

 

Owen Hart: blue blazer (WWF), the Rocket (WWF), King of Harts (WWF), Sole Survivor (WWF)

 

Fatu headlock. Owen with a irish whip, shoulderblock by Fatu. hip Toss and side headlock again. Armbar by Owen and an eye rake. Fatu DOESNT eat buckle. He does a funky dance. He threatens a stomp to the nuts, but Owen moves out of the way. Fatu sets owen on the top rope. Eye rake by Owen and a missle dropkick sends Fatu to the outside. Owen sends Fatu into the steps as we see Those "thugs" who keep watchin Fatu. Legdrop by Owen. Foot choke in the corner. Cornette chokes him from behind the referee;s back with his tennis racket. I wonder if that thing ws loaded. Fatu sunset flip gets 2. 360 clothesline and victory roll for 2. European uppercuts and a DDT. no sold. Fatu with a few rights and a back bodydrop. Backbreaker gets 2. running bulldog by Fatu. Owen crotches Fatu on the top rpe and nails a suplex and locks the sharpshooter for the win at 5:58. *1/2. Fatu carrying most of the match is B-A-D!.

Whats with all the matches between the Kliq as of late?!? Pearl Harbor attack doesnt work. Backbody drop by Shawn and a clothesline to the floor. Kid with a series of chops and headlock.. Shawn with a twirling backbreaker. snapmare and rear chinlock. Headlock by Shawn. 1-2-3 Kid is mearly a JTTS by now. they exchange punches and Kid with a eye rake. Spinning heel kick misses. HBK misses a dice and gets posted and kick with a running dropkick for 2. FF Time. Shawn Michaels with a Gorilla Press to the floor. He goes outside and attacks X-pac & teddy. Top rope axhandle andSweet Chin Music finishes it at 7:04. **1/2. Decent match, nothing special.austin blindsids Shawn but gets a beat down too.

 

That ends this tape. Its directly after the Wrestlemania XII PPV.

Man those are the true dark days of the WWF,but I stuck with it through thick and thin,although not liking Shawn Michaels I hated him being champion and determining who got a title shot and who didn't and who got a push and who didn't.

96 was a bad year? Damn, pretty much every ppv had a great main event, and the undercards were at least half decent. Austin and Savio Vega had a hell of a feud. Same with Foley and Taker. Raw was pretty weak though on a weekly basis, I have to admit, but once in awhile they would have good weeks. Usually the weeks they were live were pretty quality.

 

Heh, I didn't know Tajiri was a WWF jobber back in da day!

I just didn't like it because it was when Shawn Michaels was determining everything,but I agree that there was some good stuff in 1996.
