What does your DVD collection say about you?

Recommended Posts

Guest Downhome

This is basicly an extension of the "Post Your DVD Collection" thread, just with a twist. Post your collection here, and then the idea is for others to reply with what they feel that your DVD says about your personality or DVD habits. Or hell, if you want, score the collection or something, whatever. I've always wanted to see this here, so here we go. I'll post mine, and we go from there.

It says that I don't buy a lot of DVD's, and the ones that I do buy are worth the $$$.

And that I like TV shows.

Don't you just get the URL from the page where your collection's on? That's what I did.

mine

I hope somebody tells me what this says about me, cause I'd be most interested in knowing. Oh, and I'm not really happy with it... there's many more I want.

I'll post my thoughts on everyone's eventually. Just remember to do the same for me, and everyone else also.

As you can see in mine, I almost always buy the best DVD version of whatever movie I get. They also have to all be widescreen, unless of course they only come in fullscreen. You can't tell it either by looking at my list, but I also must have the original case, and pretty much all inserts, heh. I'm pretty anal about my DVD collection.

It's tells us nothing we didn't already know about you.

You have a great love for demented and/or bizarre things, that a so-called normal person would find unhealthy and alittle scary.

Just a quick thought.

It says that if you sold Salo (if you have the version I'm talking about) you could buy a hell of a lot more better DVDs, heh.

Where/when/how much did you get yours anyway?

downhome...what your collection tells me.

You're extremely anal and only the best will do. You like well done high quality movies and don't care for cheese.

So my planning to buy Killer Klowns and the Worst of Ed Wood Collection is out the window? :D

You are basicly right, even though I do like a slice of cheese on the side at times with my perfection.

I had a connection with a friend, it cost me $70 for that and Cannibal Holocaust. The guy had 3 or 4 of them, it was a pretty good deal.

I look at it as a collectors item as well as a movie... what I'd really like to do is probably sell the one I have, buy a cheap bootleg to watch and get a factory sealed original to keep as an investment... quite pricey though. As much as $800 from the checking I've done.

That was the first thing that came to my mind about Downhome's. There are no movies there that are supposed to be stupid.

While LaParka likes a lot of cheese in his collection. More along the lines of just liking to watch movies for fun when you can. Varsity Blues and Gone in 60 Seconds is cheese, and yes I have both as well.

Ed Wood collection? Is this something new coming out?

There is a Worst of Ed Wood collection already out, and it includes Plan 9 From Outer Space, Bride of the Monster, Jail Bait, and Glen or Glenda.

Sakura's collection tells me she's not afraid to like and own stuff that most people hate (i.e. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) She hast different tastes and that's a good thing.

Some of that is my dad's. Like Drumline, Spy Games and Just Cause.

MKA is all mine and it owns. I need Street Fighter the Movie!

Thoughts on the collections so far:

Downhome:

You're somewhat compulsive and a perfectionist. It's not hard for you to be moved by a film.

Satanico:

You appreciate kitsch, but not in a condescending way. Your taste is eclectic and you're open minded.

MaxPower:

Exactly what you said in your post.

Parka:

You like wrestling. You like cool movies, and you've got some style going on.

pinjockey:

You know what you like, there's not much grey area. You're taste is offbeat, but not quite quirky.

IDRM, I have to agree with the demented and off kilter opinion of your collection. It is odd though, going through a list of more obscure horror films and all of a sudden out pops a Mulholland Drive. Seemingly an acceptance to pretty much any type of movie and an open mind.
