Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Statement regarding Roddy Piper Since March 31, 2003, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (“WWE”) and Roderick Toombs, p/k/a “Roddy Piper”, have attempted to negotiate the terms of an arrangement for Roddy to appear on WWE programming through August of this year. The parties have been unable to reach a mutually acceptable agreement. On Tuesday, June 24, Piper appeared on an HBO program and revealed disturbing facts about his own personal drug use. Piper stated that he used drugs for many years while working in professional wrestling and that he does not like the person that he becomes when he actively performs as a professional wrestler. In view of WWE’s inability to reach agreement on a contract and to assist Piper from engaging in any self destructive behavior, the WWE is ending any further discussion with Piper regarding a contract. The WWE sincerely hopes for Piper and his family that Roddy can find happiness. Credit - WWE.com

Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Is anyone else disgusted that they had to throw the drug stuff in there? Just say you couldn't reach a deal and be done with it. Don't throw in patronizing crap like "We hope Roddy can find happiness." Edit: Just wanted to point out I couldn't give two shits about him leaving however. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Is he going to take Suck O'Haire with him? Please?
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted June 27, 2003 After reading about him on that HBO show, I was about to start the topic "How Long Until Piper is Gone?". What happens to O'Haire now?
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Well Sean O'Haire's push is temporarily fucked, but I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Is he going to take Suck O'Haire with him? Please? Urge...to...kill...RISING. This will probably be BETTER for O'Haire. As much as I like both guys, the pairing never made sense to me. Now quiet, Anglesault.
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Maybe O'Haire will get to resume the awesome character he had before.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Now I wish that I had HBO.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Hopefully O'Haire is released. They'll probably just no sell it and have O'haire just come out and act like nothing happened.
Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted June 27, 2003 HOLY FUCKING SHIT. Does this mean I saw his last ever match?? Oh Please. This is Piper we're talking about here. He ain't gonna stop 'wrestling' til 2030.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 27, 2003 This will probably be BETTER for O'Haire. As much as I like both guys, the pairing never made sense to me. Why, sure. Ditching the only thing that got his useless ass anything that could be construed as heat will do WONDERS. Maybe he can go back to not being able to play his character. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 27, 2003 So Vince won't be at the house shows now? This surprised me. Not Piper getting fired, but Piper getting fired so quickly. I figured they'd have Mae Young do something to him before canning him. But that's what you get for speaking out against the WWE.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted June 27, 2003 What the hell did Piper say on the HBO special? The only reason he's being dismissed is because he probably made WWE look bad.
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Vince made them look bad enough himself.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Maybe O'Haire will get to resume the awesome character he had before. 'Cause he was SO good at it.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 So who's next on Vince's list?
Guest GameCop Report post Posted June 27, 2003 It's now very apparent why wrestlers don't speak out against management or Vince -- they'll be fired before they know it. Case in point: Piper
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Maybe O'Haire will get to resume the awesome character he had before. 'Cause he was SO good at it. That character was money in the bank.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted June 27, 2003 yeah what is SOH technically? A hedonist? The devil on your shoulder? What is the deal? Maybe they should give him Piper's Pit and have him convince people to do his bidding.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Maybe O'Haire will get to resume the awesome character he had before. 'Cause he was SO good at it. That character was money in the bank. His performance was shit from a dog. It's now very apparent why wrestlers don't speak out against management or Vince -- they'll be fired before they know it. Guest Sakura Report post Posted June 27, 2003 The character is good. But he really sucks at doing it.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Damn it... why didn't this happen yesterday so I could put it in the Mid-Week Shellacking! Now it will have to wait for the Weekend Shellacking. Note: Please read the Shellacking on the TSM.com mainsite. Please? Pretty Please?
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Hopefully O'Haire is released. They'll probably just no sell it and have O'haire just come out and act like nothing happened. Ah, they'll probably say O'Haire fired Piper or something to that effect. However, you know that Piper will be back for WMXX from MSG.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Or they can have O'haire light Piper on fire - of course, it wouldn't be piper but you could have someone with a Hotrod shirt walking with a limp - and then you could have Tom Prichard in a mask doing the Pipers pit. Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Wow, that shocked me when I read it. I figured Piper would be around for a little bit longer. I like O'Haire, but he's probably fucked.
