*pictures Eddie Guerrero, RVD & Scott Steiner cowering in fear*

this is to me them finally finding grounds to fire him. they brought him in, he was himself, they couldn't think of an economical way out of it, so here we are. Piper still rules. Pisses me off that there is now never going to be a Piper DVD though. & think of the bitch they'll turn O'Haire into. Let's hope that this whole thing at least kills his nostalgia fetish.

OK! What exactly did Vince do and say on this mythical interview I hear about so much? Is there a transcript?

So let me get this straight. They just fired Piper, yet they did a WHOLE commerical shoot for when Smackdown comes to the Pengrowth Saddledown on August 2nd and about how Piper's Pit will have Vince McMahon as a special guest... I mean WHY shoot the damned commerical if you are thinking of firing the guy?

Piper SHOULD only be the beginning of some much needed house cleaning.

House cleaning talent wise or over-the-hill wise? Hogan & Flair are the only draws over 40, although an argument can definitely be made for Taker up there. Who knows, Vince might snap & fire everyone but him, HHH, Rock & Austin.

Talent wise, i forsee Storm, possibly Kidman, & the FBI among the dead.

Hogan and Flair aren't the only draws over 40.

Booker T is over 40. He's really over and if put in the top spot then I'm sure he could draw.

Hogan doesn't draw, it's been proven.

I wouldn't Can Hogan...

He hasn't caused any shit aside from the Brock Re-Match deal and has put over Angle, Brock, Rock (tho he didn't need it) and rubbed Edge...

His shirts are good sells and is INOFENSIVE as an Mid-Card special Atraction...

thats actually a bit sad because asides the fact he shouldn't wrestle he still was money for doing the Pit.

If it was truly his confession of his Drug use on HBO then he shot himself in the foot.

Usually the WWE would tolerate someone running at the mouth, and in Piper's case they should have been accepting of that, but taking the drug route proves to be unacceptable behavior.

Since Brian Lawler's crossing Countrylines with Drug material, the WWE has been getting more cautious.

They released Roaddogg over it, they released Eddie over it, only to bring him back when he cleaned up.

So this isnt completely out of the blue.

Hogan can draw given the right situation. He's been credited with the X-8 buyrate as the show prob wouldn't have done so well w/o Hogan v. Rock.

The Mr. America-Vince stuff has also done well in the ratings.

Roddy Piper is a hypocritical drugged out moron and I'm not too sad to see him go

Piper was so bitter that he couldn't keep his mouth shut and keep a good thing going. He's 49 and this was his last chance to make any considerable sum of $$$ in the wrestling business and he just couldn't help himself but mess this up.

Well yeah, Piper is bitter... if I worked in a business where so damn many of my friends had died because of drugs, I'd probably be a little bitter too

Piper said NOTHING wrong in the interview. All he talked about was what the road was like in the 80's and how wrestling is a business where to make big money you usually gotta be a big guy... steroids... you're always tired because you're always flying, so you need cocaine to speed you up... then you gotta have something to bring you down. Then of course, pain killers for the pain. Then you're depressed and the stress level is so high. He then said that he doesn't like the guy he sees on television (himself) because he knows what he has done in the past, and he knows what he was capable of... he talked about how he needs money because he can't take out his penchant until he's 65 and "lets face it guys... I'm not gonna make 65."

The interview was fascinating and truthful. Piper came across as a very sad human being that has lost ALOT of friends to the business. He merely helped to open up alot of eyes. Wrestler deaths are largely ignored because as he said "if you have a problem, who cares? You're just a dumb professional wrestler."

Vince is the fucking moron that came across as an idiot because the interviewer asked him a simple question. I wanted to put my foot through the tv screen when he almost slapped the guys papers out of his hands
