Guest DarkHollywood Report post Posted June 27, 2003 This tape covers the main buildup for the Summerslam PPV, and includes the newer version of the Summerslam Spectacular, naming it Sunday Night Slam. It includes a very important match that lead to another important storyline later in the year, and includes a battle of Kliq-sters, so stay tuned. Plus as a special bonus, I've added a recent match, just for the hell of not wanting to review the whole show. 1-2-3 Kid vs. "Double J" Jeff Jarrett: This a rematch from the (then) recent King of the Ring tournament, where the 1-2-3 Kid pulled off an upset by cradling Jarrett in a figure four attempt. Jarrett went on to beat the crap out of him, kind of helping Owen Hart, who was the Kids next opponent. A few weeks back 1-2-3 Kid had possibly on of his best matches on WWF television that didn't involve KLIQ members. Now onto the match...This is from an episode of Superstars by the way. Lawler & Ross on commentary, way back 10 years ago. Jarrett does some Memphis stalling. Lockup and 1-2-3 Kid with an arm drag. Jarrett with a go behind and the Kid rolls him off into a mutual position. "1-2-3" chants. Jarrett with a side headlock which is countered into an armbar by the 1-2-3 Kid. 1-2-3 Kid with a standing side headlock and he takes him to the mat by walking up the turnbuckles. Jarrett counters with a back suplex and he lays in some boots to 1-2-3 Kids face and gives him the over sold turnbuckle whip. Forearm to the kidney and Jarrett stomps away. Big Slam by Jarrett. 1-2-3 grabs a headlock and takes Jarrett to the canvas for two. Jarrett gets a boot to the midsection and a vicious DDT as we go to break. We're back and 1-2-3 Rolls up Jarrett for two. Jarrett back on offense and we all know what he does, just read a few lines up. Jarrett misses a second rope splash and hangs himself up. 1-2-3 with an Irish whip and he avoids a drop-kick. Kid with a series of roundhouse rights and the spinning heel kick to the face for two. 1-2-3 misses a cross body and lands on he outside. Jarrett eats boot on the outside as the referee calls for the bell at 7:06...for a double count-out ending. BOO! *3/4 Another decent affair by Jarrett. He jumps the Kid and piledrives him through the mat (not literally). A second piledriver and the referees have to carry him to the back just about. WWF Summer Sizzler Tour! From Madison Square Garden on August 25, 1994! WWF World Champion Bret Hart & Razor Ramon take on Owen Hart & Jim Niedhart in the main event! In a Tag Team Title Match The Head Shrinkers defend against Shawn Michaels & Diesel. Tatanka challenges I.R.S in an Indian Strap Match. Also, Jeff Jarrett & Bam Bam Bigelow battle Mabel & Doink, WWF Womens Champion Alundra Blayze squares off against Bull Nakano, The Bushwhackers face the Heavenly Bodies, Adam Bomb takes on Kwang, and Sparky Plugg faces Quebecer Pierre! Quick Video of Bob Backlund training from 1992 when he made his big return to the WWF after a 8 year absence. Promo from Bob Backlund, and apparently next week, its Backlund versus Bret for the title!! Summerslam commercial...featuring Leslie Neilson! He's going to solve the mystery of the Undertaker...and gets scared when Undertakers theme strikes up and the lights go out. Time for the Heartbreak Hotel with Shawn Michaels & Diesel. Diesel looks so different from what he looked like last year. This weeks guest is "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase! Dibiase is going to clear the air and deliver the goods. Everybody has a price apparently, which was true I guess. He said he would buy the World Wrestling Federation Title, and did it (1988). He brings out...once again...wait...he brings out "Made in the USA" Lex Luger?! Oh Ya...Luger gets a pretty decent reaction upon his LATE entrance. Tatanka is out here now. He thought Luger represented the same things he fought for, the country, the fans, and the people around the world. Tatankas proud to be an American...but he says Luger sold out to Dibiase. Dibiase calls him jealous because its not him he brought out, but it was Lex Luger. He says that Tatanka can't beat Lex Luger. Tatanka promises he can beat Luger any day of the week. Luger says its no deal to selling out, and he tells Tatanka there's not enough money to buy him out. He still considers Tatanka a friend, but he's not going to debate who can beat who and have his integrity questioned. Tatanka doesn't buy it and says he saw cash exchanged between Ted and Lex. Tatanka sarcastically says Luger didn't sell out and walks out. Dibiase's bottom line is Lex Luger is in the bank. Summerslam Report!! Brought to you by Dominos Pizza. Monday Night, August 29th, at 8 ET. New match announced...Intercontinental Champion Diesel defends the title against the former champion Razor Ramon. Don't forget Undertaker versus Undertaker, plus he promises that Leslie Nielson will get to the bottom of this situation. For the WWF Championship in a Steel Cage Match Bret Hart puts his title on the line versus Owen, and the Hart Family will all be attendance for this match. $10,000 Challenge Match: Tatanka vs. Nikolai Volkoff: Did Volkoff EVER win a match when he returned in 1994? I'm not expecting a long match here. Lockup and Tatanka goes to a wrist lock and chops away on the shoulder. Tatanka puts him down with a shoulder block. Volkoff with a cheap shot in the corner and he gets some of his weak offense in. Plenty of choke holds and he connects with a big boot. Pretty bad stomps to the head, with only one or two actually making contact. Tatanka beats the shit out of Volkoff but gets caught with a back elbow. Tatanka with a big clothesline and a drop-kick sends Volkoff to the outside. Volkoff makes Tatanka eat steel and we go back in the ring. Tatanka Indians-Up and chops away on the Russian. Tatanka heads to the third floor and nails the big chop for two!!?? Small Package by Tatanka off a body slam attempt gets three at 6:12. 1/4* Savage enters the ring to taunt Dibiase on the stick...man I wish they fought again. Ted Dibiase has the money for Tatanka and says he was impressed with Tatanka. He says he can never beat Luger like that on his best day. Tatanka actually gets the money! Luger challenges Tatanka to a match, which Tatanka kind of accepts but it's not official. WWF World Championship Match: Bret "Hitman" Hart © vs. Bob Backlund: From an episode of Superstars...and yes it is that match. Backlund is the underdog here who is looking to be champion again since he lost it in December 1983! Damn tape is in SP Mode for this match too. Backlund gets a nice introduction with some good face heat. Bret gets a much better reaction though and has theme music...of course. We get the face to face staredown and some talking. They attempt some amateur style wrestling and Bret side steps Backlund going for a double leg takedown. Lockup and that goes to no one. Lockup Part 2 and Backlund forces Bret to the corner and gets a shoulder thrust and hip toss into a body scissors pin for two! Bret runs but Backlund throws him in and he German suplexes him into a bridge pin for two. Both men mule kick out of submission attempts with Backlund getting the upperhand. Test of Strength and Backlund rolls out of it, tripping up Bret for a two count on two occasions. Another Test of Strength and Backlund with a go behind, which is turned into an armbar by Bret. Knees to the bicep of Backlund and he returns to the armbar. Leg drop to the arm and Bret with a hammer lock. Backlund fights to his feet and snapmares Bret over, only to have the hold still applied. Backlund with a German suplex...but Bret still has the wristlock held on and drops the knee into the tricep. Half nelson by Bret and that gets two. Backlund reverses into another two count, and Bret goes back to work on the arm and applies the overhead wrist lock. Armbar by Bret and he rings the arm. Backlund with a whip but he gets caught with a headlock and a huge roundhouse right. So Backlund gives him an equally stiff forearm shot and rolls him up for two. Bret with a headbutt, and that hurts himself. Backlund with his own headbutt and they both are hurt. Backlund with a piledriver!! He throws the arm across the chest...for two!! Back from commercial and Bret reverses a piledriver with a back drop and scoop slams him, followed by a leg drop. Whip and they trade the abdominal stretch, with Backlund winning it but they both go down quickly. Backlund blocks a suplex with a small package for TWO!!! He thought he won but no. He scoops up Bret for a slam but Bret cradles him for 1...2....3! Bret retains at 9:17. ***1/2 Nice old school type match. Bret asks for a handshake and...Backlund slaps him! Then he applies the cross-face chicken wing, screaming like a psycho!! Bob Backlund finally releases...and looks at his hands in a strange trans. Summerslam Report! New Match added this week is of course, Lex Luger versus Tatanka. Still World Title Match is Bret versus Owen, Intercontinental Title has Diesel facing Ramon, and Undertaker taking on Undertaker. Typhoon & Mabel vs. Yokozuna & Crush: This is from Wrestling Challenge/All-American Wrestling. Mabel is in the period where they had nothing for him to do while Mo was on the injured list, shot in an angle where Owen had the sharpshooter applied to his knee that he injured (worked injury in match, but real injury in real life) earlier in the match. Typhoon is also doing nothing, and so we have this. It is sad Crush is the only one who had any talent...barely. Yokozuna for a big guy was talented but I wouldn't say he was good either. Heels pearl harbor and double team on Typhoon. Typhoon clotheslines both men, and they chase them off. Yokozuna starts with Typhoon and a shoulder block goes nowhere, but a third by Typhoon puts down the Samoan. Crush in with Mabel now and he has him in a headlock. Mabel whips him off and a shoulder block goes nowhere also. Mabel catches Crush in a cross body attempt with a slam and a big fat leg drop for two. Back from Commercial and Crush lays some boots to the midsection of Mabel. High elevation leg drop by Crush. Dibiase & Lane on commentary for your information. Crush to the top rope and he misses a knee drop. Both teams make tags and Typhoon hammers on Yokozuna and clotheslines him down. Slam on Crush and we got some pier six brawling. Typhoon eats a savat kick and Yokozuna with a belly to belly suplex for three at 4:50. DUD Why must we get so much Typhoon in a few weeks. Rowdy Roddy Pipers bottom line segment. No Thanks, the volume is so low in these I can't hear them anyway. While I'm on Roddy Piper (mind out of gutters) I'd like to say it's sad to hear he was fired because of his personal issues and I wish him the best of luck with his life. Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels: Woah, where did this come from? I won't bank on it being that good, since Michaels has not been wrestling on air since his Wrestlemania X Ladder match against Ramon. Vince Mcmahon is on commentary for the first time in a long time. Shawn Michaels has his uber-cool black with Blue tights for this match, a pattern he used very rarely. they go face to face and Shawn shoves Ramon. Lockup and Shawn with a headlock into a go behind and back. Shawn reverses an atomic drop, takes down Ramon and walks across him only to eat fist and take the flair flip over the top rope to the floor. Ramon with a stiff right sends Michaels off the apron. Michaels rakes the eyes and sends Ramon to the buckle and comes off the top only to get caught with a fist. Swinging Neck breaker by Michaels and he drops the knee across the ribs. Michaels sends Ramon to the buckle but gets caught in a cross body attempt with a fall away slam for two. Ramon to an armbar and Michael reverses, nailing a series of forearms. Rights by Michaels and he chokes him in the corner. Snapmare and face stomp by HBK followed by a sweet drop-kick for two. Michaels with some jabs and a roundhouse across the jaw. Michaels chokes Ramon on the ropes, and Diesel adds some assistance behind the referees back. Sleeper Hold by Michaels. Ramon with a succession of elbows to break it and he back slides HBK for two. Michaels with a clothesline for two and applies a rear chinlock. Ramon catches him in a drop-kick and sling shots him clear across the top rope into the arms of Diesel, knocking both men down. Back from Commercial and Michaels sends Ramon to the buckle...with the use of the trunks. Mcmahon confirms that this is Michaels first match since Wrestlemania. Michaels gets caught on the top rope with a big press slam and Ramon with an abdominal stretch. Michaels pokes the eyes to escape and lays a series of elbows across the back of Ramons head. Ramon catches Michaels with his head down and slams him face first into the mat. BIG Back Body Drop by Ramon and he stomps away at the lower back of Michaels. Bear hug by Ramon. Michaels with a series of bionic elbows to break the hold, but he can't slam Ramon, so he reapplies the hold. Michaels sunset flips out of it, but gets caught into a pin for two, but Michaels reverses it back for another two. Ramon with a clothesline for two. Off the ropes and Michaels side steps him, sending him over the top rope to the floor, where Diesel meets him with a vicious clothesline. Michaels chokes on Ramon and drop an elbow across the neck of Ramon. Michaels hammers away in the corner with a series of lefts and rights followed by the diving back elbow for two. Ramon with some roundhouse rights and HBK with a big-time sleeper hold. Ramon to his feet with a back suplex, and both men are down. Ramon catches Michaels with a big kick to the face and they are down again. Double head collision and we get a double knockout. Ramon hammers on Michaels and nails the discus punch. Flair Flip by Michaels and he eats lariat for two. Ramon sets him on the top rope but Michaels elbows him off and comes off the top rope with a flying cross body press..only to be reversed for two! Michaels with a superkick for only two!!! That wasn't his official finisher YET by the way. Michaels goes for the Razors Edge, but its reversed with a back drop. Ramon hammer son Diesel, and takes care of Michaels as well. Michaels whips Ramon into a Diesel big boot, (the referee was returning the IC Belt in the ring back to the table) and HBK Rolls up Ramon from behind for the three count at 17:55!! What a match. **** Not as good as there Ladder Match of course, but still its up there in the ranks. We get a heel beat down after the match. Non-Title Singles Match: Alundra Blayze © vs. Bull Nakano: This is Bull's WWF debut match, and for a fat japanese woman, she's not THAT ugly. She also gets a recycled version of the Orient Express' theme music. Nakano with a big kick and clothesline out of the gate and Blayze with a series of crescent kicks. Blayze with a fist to the sternum followed by a hair-plane spin. Repeat. Blayze with a hurricanrana for two! Nakano dodges a heel kick and chokes. Neck snap by Bull and she does it once more for two. Rear chinlock by Nakano and she chokes Blayze across the top rope. Nakano with an awesome piledriver and that gets two. She pulled her shoulder up! Powerbomb by Nakano gets two. Blayze with a sunset slip for two and she goes to the top rope but Nakano side steps a missile drop-kick. Nakano with a scoop slam, and she heads to the top rope, and misses a leg drop! German Suplex only gets two!!! Blayze with a victory roll gets two again and the action spills outside. Blayze with a top rope splash onto Nakano and it's a double count-out finish at 5:24. *1/2 For a decent women's match but they had several better matches later on. Kings Court time with Jerry "The King" Lawler. His guest for this segment is no one yet. He talks to a couple at ringside, and the guy asks the chick if she will marry him. Lawler brings her into the ring afterwards, and kisses her (after making fun of her and the guy), pissing off her boyfriend. Bob Backlund comes out and cuts a big word filled interview. We get highlights from the Backlund snapping situation. Ugh my tape is crapping out. Ok it only lasts for the next match. "The Undertaker" vs. Butch Banks: Undertaker hammers away on him and chokes him in the corner for a while. Jaw lock applied and he connects with a big boot and a short arm clothesline. Choke in the ropes and he chokeslams him out of his shoes for the win at 3:03. DUD. We get a new Leslie Nielson vignette, where we see Savage chilling with some hotties at a local pool. Some little nerd talks to him, and then another Leslie Nielson shows up with cops and has the other arrested for being a faker. Wow, that was POINTLESS. Another Summerslam Report! NEW MATCHES! WWF Tag Team Champions the Head Shrinkers defend the titles against Bam Bam Bigelow & I.R.S. WWF Womens Champion Alundra Blayze takes on Bull Nakano in a rematch. Highlights from WWF Superstars where Well Dunn put a beating on Adam Bomb, who eventually sent the losers packing. Adam Bomb & Smoking Gunns Vs. Well Dunn & Kwang: Mike Barton, Mr. Ass, Wrath, Savio Vega, Rex King and...Timothy Well in one match! Dunn and Bart start and Dunn has control until Gunn boots him in the corner and drops him on his face. Series of drop-kicks by Bart followed by an arm drag into an armbar. Billy Gunn sling shots in with a clothesline for two. Well in and he hammers on Rockabilly and Kwang in with a spinning heel kick. Kwang lays a beating on Billy and chops him. Gunn with a cross body press gets two and Kwang back on top. Dunn in and he hammers on Billy and connects with a flying forearm for two. Small Package by Billy Gunn gets two and the heels control again. Double bulldog by Well Dunn and Well drops an elbow. Well with a snap suplex and he goes to the top rope and eats a drop-kick...literally. Bomb in and he hammers away on Dunn and side slams him. He heads upstairs and comes off with a missile clothesline for two. Bonzo Gonzo time and Adam Bomb finishes Dunn with the mushroom cloud for three at 5:02. * Passable, but not important. Final Match is added to Summerslam, and well, it has no build up. It's Mabel versus Jeff Jarrett, meaning rap versus country. Vince Mcmahon interviews Owen & Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart inside an erected steel cage. Owen says Bret has bullied him all his life, and now, he has him right where he wants him, inside a steel cage. He promises to hurt Bret and that this has gotten out of hand. He beat Bret fairly at Wrestlemania, and the only thing missing is the world title. Owen rambles now. Niedhart gets an easy paycheck by just standing next to Owen, pulling his beard, and shutting up. WWF SUNDAY NIGHT SLAM! Broadcasted: August 21, 1994 From the Beeghly Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Commentary by Randy Savage & Jim Ross "Made In The USA" Lex Luger vs. Crush: This is the blowoff I guess for the Luger/Crush feud that was never settled during the summer. Lockup and Luger breaks clean in the corner. Luger with a side headlock Luger dodges a big boot and nails a cross body press for two, and reapplies the headlock. Crush with a cheap shot and he hammers away on Lex. Luger back drops out of a piledriver and pounds away on Crush with rights. Shoulder tackle by Luger sends Crush to the outside. Back inside and Crush win an inverted atomic drop. Crush sends Luger to the buckle and nails a back breaker for two. Forearms to the kidneys of Luger by Crush and he beats him to the canvas. Camel Clutch applied by Crush and he continues the punishment of the lower back. BUTT drop by Crush gets two. We get a bear hug and this lasts a while. Crush with a press slam on Luger and he nails a leg drop for two. Crush with a vertical suplex for two and he continues with the hard rights. Double head collision and both men are down. Both men trade hard rights, which Luger wins, and he drops the Hawaiian Japanese Dude, but a headbutt stops the momentum. Luger comes back with a series of clotheslines and a big powerslam for two. DDT by Luger and that gets two again. Crush lays out Luger, and heres Dibiase to distract him with money. Luger from behind with the loaded forearm smash and that gets three at 14:28. * Match dragged a little too much, lasting WAY TOO LONG. Dibiase is recovering his money that Crush slapped away. We Review the Undertaker situation. First, we must relive the horrors of Royal Rumble 94 when Undertaker resurrected from his coffin (OK Jesus) and floated (thanks to a lot of wires) into the heavens. We get some footage of bad actors saying they saw the Undertaker in their stores. Now we go to Ted Dibiase on the Heartbreak Hotel, where he brings out The Undertaker...but wait a minute...this guy looks almost nothing like him! Paul Bearer promised his own Undertaker at Summerslam. Several weeks ago on the Kings Court, Dibiases Undertaker was choking out Bearer when the bells tolled and the lights went out...and Paul Bearer has a fit. Thurman "Sparky" Plugg & 1-2-3 Kid vs. Bam Bam Bigelow & I.R.S: Well, they are building up Bigelow & I.R.S for Summerslam, so guess who wins this match. Substitute I.R.S with Tatanka and we have the finals to the Tag Team Title Tournament (Quadruple T) at the 1995 Royal Rumble. Bigelow & Kid start the match and the Kid avoids a Bigelow charge. Bigelow with a big waist slam and he hammers on Kid in the corner and LITERALLY THROWS him across the ring! Drop-kick by 1-2-3 and a spinning heel kick connects! Missile Drop-kick off the top rope gets two! Bigelow misses a charge and Kid with his signature kicks in the corner and a reverse enziguri sends Bigelow to the outside! 1-2-3 Kid with a baseball slide followed by a somersault plancha!! Plugg ducks an IRS clothesline and he spills outside, and Plugg hammers away on him. Double Whip sends Bigelow & I.R.S into each other. Plugg off the top rope with a diving elbow for two on Bigelow and he applies an arm bar. Bigelow with a slam but he misses a headbutt, and Plugg misses an elbow drop. I.R.S in and he hammers away on Plugg but gets caught with a flying cross body for two, as well as a drop-kick for two. Sunset Flip in the corner by Plugg gets two again. I.R.S with an armbar, and Plugg reverses, and 1-2-3 Kid comes in with an axehandle to the arm. Kid takes a VICIOUS bump through the ropes when I.R.S side stepped a suicide dive. Back elbow by I.R.S followed by a leg drop for two and he applies a reverse chinlock. Bigelow tags in and he slams 1-2-3 Kid hard and drops a fat ass leg drop for two. Front headlock by Bigelow and he follows with a DDT for two. I.R.S in with an air plane spin into a slam and he shakes off the daze and covers for two. Front Headlock by I.R.S and Plugg gets the unnoticed tag, so we get Bigelow in with a headbutt to the shoulder on 1-2-3 Kid. Canadian back breaker by Bigelow and I.R.S comes off with an elbow drop for two. Bigelow misses a moonsault off the top rope and Plugg gets the hot tag and he bulldogs Bigelow and atomic drops I.R.S followed by a clothesline, and drop-kicks Bigelow. Bigelow catches him with a powerslam off the top rope and that's enough at 10:11. Wow, that was a really good match. *** If not for the slow portion near the end, this might have gotten to 4-stars, but still pretty good. We got another Leslie Nielson vignette, where The Undertaker delivers him a dominos pizza while he's under his desk looking for something. Jeez, these vignettes really suck. Heidi Lee Morgan vs. Bull Nakano: Morgans only WWF appearences were losing to Alundra blayze in the a title finals and in a match on Superstars in the winter of 93-94. Morgan has to be anorexic. Nakano wins the lockup but gets caught with a reverse hurricanrana for two. Armbar by Morgan and she arm scissors her over. Nakano throws Morgan across the ring and applies a reverse chin lock. Lifting Choke Hold a la Road Warriors followed by a leg drop for two. Sharpshooter-Boston Crab mix submission hold. Sharpshooter is applied, but its a different form where she applies it and lifts her body up for like a bow and arrow hold. Snapmare and grounded abdominal stretch by Nakano. Morgan reverses several times for two. Morgan with a sunset flip for two and she hip tosses Nakano, and nails a running drop-kick. To the top rope and he connects with a cross body for two. Nakano catches her with a powerslam and comes off the top rope with a guillotine leg drop for the easy three count at 7:32. Way too long for a basic squash, but *1/4 will be enough for this. Nakano shows she can actually WRESTLE and show cased a LOT of moves. Forgive me, but I'm skipping over an interview with Bret Hart conducted by Raymond Rogeau. Bret was never the best person to transcribe unless he sounds like an idiot. Non-Title Singles Match: Diesel © vs. Typhoon: Another predictable match here. Lockup goes around the ring and Typhoon breaks clean, only to get thrown in the corner and hammered away on, and Diesel with knee lifts. Typhoon with a big avalanche puts Diesel down and he scoop slams him for two. Diesel with a cheap shot and he pounds on fat boy. Diving Shoulder Tackle and Diesel does a twirl! Elbow Drop gets two by the way. Rear Nerve Hold by Diesel lasts for a while. Foot choke in the corner by Diesel but he misses a big boot and Typhoon punches some more. Typhoon misses an elbow drop but splashes Diesel in the corner, and avalanches him across the ring. Second time doesn't work and he eats boot, and Diesel with a flying clothesline for three at 5:00. DUD Diesel with an easy win. ANOTHER Leslie Nielson segment, and he comes to a Dead End sign...but it's to be continued. "The Undertaker" vs. Sonny Rogers: Undertaker hammers away on Rogers to start the match, and he scoop slams him ino the turnbuckle into a tree of woe and drives the boot into his chest. Face Choke and Tombstone ends it just like that at 1:21. DUD and we get the body bag treatment for the jobber. WWF Studio Time with Jerry Lawler & Vince McMahon, and they answer the fans questions: Lawler is on for this segment, so I'll go over each caller. Lawler makes fun of McMahons wardrobe and cause him an idiot. Lawler doesn't want any problems. He doesn't go to where the fans work and unplug their slurpy machines. Vince McMahon mentions the Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz gimmick being on strike. Lawler mentions his softball team, the King's Army. This comes back to bite us later. John From Wisconsin: He wants to know Lawlers opinion if he had to take Brets place at Summerslam. Stupid Question. Lawler wants to know if he's making cheese. Janice From New Jersey: She likes Vince's tie. She wants to know if The Undertakers are brothers and were the Twin Towers...(busts out laughing.) That's Akeem & Big Boss Man you BITCH! Vince's facial expression...rules. Lawler makes fun. She asks Lawler why he's so mean...so she gives her the ROYAL FLUSHER! Stephanie From Wisconsin: Another idiot. She wants to know if Paul Bearers Undertaker is a faker. Lawler of course says Dibiase has the real Undertaker. He says her parents have plenty of brains because they didn't give her any. Donna From Florida: She wants to know if The Undertaker has a twin brother. Vince mentions the twin referees, and is thankful there isn't twin Lawlers. There might be though. Don from West Virginia: Lawler makes the comment 5 million people 15 last names. He calls him a hillbilly. He thinks Tatanka sold out...wow a smart fan. Lawler says the only way he'd have money is if they gave money by the pound. Jim from Illinois: He thinks Dibiase sold out, and wants to know what they think. McMahon counters the question and these fans REALLY suck! Lawler feels sorry for Tatanka. Vinny From Massachusetts: Its a little kid. Lawler asks if he ever used a phone before and flushes him. Bob From New Jersey: RETARD VILLE! Lawler asks if intelligent life lives in his house, and McMahon LAUGHS, breaking character. John from Florida: He kisses Lawlers ass. He asks who he'd pick as a tag team partner. McMahon says Dink, but Lawler kisses his ass in return, and says he'd probably pick Owen Hart. Jovan from New York: He's not there. John from Minnesota: He's not there either. Lawler asks him if he's calling from Mars and flushes him, and McMahon laughs. John from Wisconsin: No one there. Mando From New York: He farts on the phone....nevermind, their lines crapped out. Lawler says the fans are on the cover of Idiots Illustrated every month. Laura from Florida: It's an old woman. She congratulates McMahon on his trial...wow...that was out of nowhere. Lawler draws a picture of the fan on the phone. She's gone. Lawler finishes the drawing rather quickly, because he's an artist ... and the picture is an ugly old woman holding a Bret Hart pendant. Mancow from Illinois: Mancow from Rock 103.5 radio station in Chicago. He argues with Lawler. Lawler says he's uderly ridiculous. Mancow challenges the Kings softball team to a charity game. Lawler accepts it...and flushes him down the toilet. Steve from New Jersey: He wants to know Lawlers prediction for Owen/Bret and my tape runs out of time. STUPID SP MODE! OVERALL a pretty enjoyable tape. The studio segment was hilarious with all the idiot marks calling in and Lawler insulting them every chance he got. a **** HBK/Ramon match, ***1/2 Bret/Backlund match and *** tag team match makes this tape a thumbs up. !!~BONUS MATCH~!!: Ultimo Dragon vs. Shannon Moore (6/26/03 Smackdown): I'm adding this in because I love reviewing a WWF debut match of a REALLY good wrestler, and am too lazy to review a whole Smackdown without wanting to vomit. Dragon gets flaming pyro for his entrance and a pretty good pop. I'm not expecting a great match, since Dragon has wrestled very seldomly since his retirement after a botched shoulder surgery (I believe it was shoulder). Moore with a snapmare and dragon head scissors out, and repeat that sequence. Moore with an armbar, and Drano rolls over and kips up into a reversal, and Moore trades it, only to get caught with a mule kick and they are back to a standing position. Dragon flips over in a snapmare, and they leap frog until Dragon springboard elbows Moore to the outside and teased a plancha by flipping back to the center of the ring. Michael Cole answers my question on why his name means Last Dragon, because he was the last student of Bruce Lee. Moore drop toe holds Dragon into the second rope for two. Back suplex by Moore gets another two count and he applies a million dollar dream like submission hold. Clothesline by Moore flattens out Ultimo but he reverses a Suplex with a reverse hurricanrana and catches him with a spinning heel kick. Dragon back leg sweep s Moore and lays in some martial arts kicks and finishes the sequence with a jumping heel kick to the face for two. Moore is back dropped to the apron, and they edit him slipping, and Dragon with the Asai moonsault!! Dragon rolls Moore back in the ring for two. Dragon gets caught with an elbow, but nails Moore with a jaw breaker off the second rope. Dragon with a fury of knees to the sternum and he nails a flip over reverse DDT!! That gets the easy three count at 4:56. **3/4 Pretty impressive debut considering the amount of time away from the ring. I wish I knew the name of that finisher because that was awesome! Guest Sharpshooterhig Report post Posted June 28, 2003 Another really good review. You really should continue to do these types of reviews, as theres pretty much no one else that does proper reviews of tv matches from the 80s and 90s. If youve got any more 1994 tv or 1995/1996 tv, you should review them. Keep up the good work.
Guest DarkHollywood Report post Posted June 28, 2003 I'm finishing up the September-October tape, and only need to do 2 more matches.
