1. I got the new issue of Batman today. It appears that they're going with Jason Todd as Hush, and I don't really know how to react to that. I will say that if they do go that route, I can see this becoming a hated story amongst Batman afficinados. One of the few things every Batman fan can agree on is that bringing back Jason is cheap. It takes away perhaps The Joker's most vile and memorable moment, and renders the entire story A Death in the Family pointless.

2. They really need to re-energize some old villains. Clayface and Riddler spring to mind as two valueable villains, with big followings, who get shit on everytime they appear recently.

3. Looking at his recent work, I'd like to go on record and say Brian Michael Bendis is the most overrated writer to ever work at Marvel.

4. Ron Zimmerman will always be a hack.

Todd as Hush?!?!?!?

OK, that suck.

Maybe its me but, didnt Loeb said Hush was a NEW CHARACTER?

And from the whole pantheon of Batman... why Jason?

Oh well, after all, it looks like Loeb and Lee are turning this Batman arc from Epic into a Good or Barely good.

I already said it in another thread, one of the peaks of this Batman arc was Bats vs Joker... an IMO it sucked.

Now about Bendis, well, I only read Alias, and I love Alias, but maybe his other stories are turning into "not so good" because he now writes half of Marvel titles.

How can they bring back a character that was bludgenoned to death with a crowbar and buried six feet under? I guess Hal Jordan had a few more stops before he saved the earth in Final Night.

It *has* to be a red herring. There's no way they'd bring back Todd...right?

Ra's Al-Ghul said that someone had used a one of his Lazerus Pits to their full power. (A total ressurection) He said that whoever has been doing this to Batman needed to come back from the dead first. Couple that with the fact that Hush is super-intellegent, knows Bruce's secret, knows how to formulate complex plans, and there are only 3 real suspects:

1. Jason Todd

2. Hugo Strange

3. The Reaper

1. If it is Todd, than I will officially declare Loeb a hack.

2. I agree. Clayface & Riddler were two villains I always thought were rather interesting, and deserving of getting a 'god-push' if you will. I've always been a Riddler fan - compare the shitty Riddler we saw in Bat books recently compared to the bad-ass Eddie Nigma of the Batman: Animated Series.

3. I disagree. Bendis is consistently good if not great, which is more than can be said about MANY writers in comics today. And he maintains this while writing probably a half dozen books a month.

4. Ron Zimmerman is the grand HACK of all hacks. I personally think that the only reason this waste has a job with Marvel is because Quesada and / or Jemas are huge Stern fans.

What makes it worse is that Riddler is one of a dozen villains in comicdom that has name recognition with virtually EVERYONE. He could be a sales giant, but they piss him away.

I personally think that they're hinting at Jason Todd, but only to swerve the audience. It's pretty much established by everyone at DC that he stays dead.

I flipped through the issue in BOOKS-A-MILLION yesterday. If it is Jason, I'm not quite sure how I'll react either, simple because we still don't kow how they're going to present it.

I'd much rather it be a totally new character though.

I like Bendis.

Clayface rules the DC pile of bad guys. You all know it.

Again, I think Clayface was a villain that the Animated Series really did well. It showed just how interesting - and incredibly dangerous - the villain could be.

Bucky stays dead. The same should apply to that wussy, Jason Todd.

I personally think that the Riddler sucks. The Penguin too, but that's another topic.

I like Bendis' work. Ultimate Spider-Man is tops with me.

Who the hell is this Zimmerman guy?
