Gotta go with Angle, who is a much more developed character and in-ring worker than RVD.

Though I definitely got to say, given the history of this board with this topic, you are playing with fire opening up this can of worms again.

Hmmm...I probably like RVD more...

...but I have to go with Angle.

I'd say they're about equal in the ring (yes, Angle is better techinical wrestler, but RVD's athleticism really is impressive) but Angle is also good on the mic.

Angle is the whole package.  Although one thing that RVD has over Angle is he can play either face or heel.  It's been shown pretty conclusively that Angle just can't be a face...with the exception of very short turns here or there, Angle will be heel for life...

This Topic could cause dissention withing the HHHaters

::Open to BPS and Nu Salt making angry faces while Teke and Yodeler look stupid trying to split us up.::

Can't we all just get along?

I vote for Angle, but RVD is awesome too.  They are my two favorite wrestlers, but Angle is better in the ring and better on the mic.  RVD has more charisma though.

I think the InVasion proved pretty conclusively that RVD will always be a face. His flashy wrestling style is too conducive to cheers to effectively let him play the bad guy. He'd have to go the way of anti-Hardcore Cactus Jack when he was in ECW, using a boring, mat-based offense teasing high spots and then flipping off the crowds and going back to headlocks in order to get boos.

Yeah, they're both great, but Angle gets the nod from me. He's too better-rounded between the two.

Angle is ahead of RVD.  Angle has developed into the best wrestler currently on the WWF roster, has incredible character, and mic skills only bettered by Rocky.

RVD, while I may not appreciate his wrestling style... he is insanely over because he is entertaining, and a character that the fans enjoy.

Angle is better because he's the whole deal with no weaknesses, and RVD isn't at that level.

I'm sorry Anglesault, you post about THREE things, I forgot about your hatred for HHH, my bad.   Fuck off.

ahem...in a shocking swerve (well...shocking may be a strech)

I voted for Angle.

He's a far better worker, promo guy, and will inevitably leave a much greater mark on the business.

The only thing that RVD may have over him...is the potential to be the biger star.

Isn't that kind of sad?

Anyway...Angle is the man...

...and IMO their aren't many people that could beat him in this type of poll question.

No way Rocky Maivia is a better talker than Angle.  For most of his promos the Rock is on cruise control.  Kurt's delivery is usually perfect.  Maybe I need to break out some tape of the Corporate Champ Rock but right now he's not in Angle's league.

I have to agree with Cactus.  I liked the Rock's Corporate and Nation promos much better than his current ones.  I did laugh when he tried to make Kane flinch tonight, though.  Now he seems to say basically the same things over and over.  Hell, I think Jericho and Austin are better on the mic than Rock now, too.

He wasn't good as a face? Didn't you watch the WWF last summer?

Jericho blows on the mic now, he's like the HHH of heels. He used to be a lot better. Angle is the best right now, with Austin and Rock both behind and about even. They are a bit more hit or miss, but their top-end stuff is better than Angle's (especially the Rock's).

Angle crushes him. Easily.

The match they had on Raw was just silly. I knew that RVD was not going to drop the belt but I also knew that there was no way that he could take Kurt. I wondered how they were going to end the match. I should have thought about the disqualification.

Hey Anglesault. Your boy was in the main event tonight. So much for his midcard status. I bet you bitch about this too though.

I really like RVD but angle has been the top performer in the WWF (along with Austin) in Benoit's absence.

Austin is hands down the best mic man in the WWF.

When Rock feels like it, he is very good.  Lately, he hasn't felt like it.

Oh, and RVD is a decent worker.  Angle is an incredible one.

Angle can't play a face? Umm....until just after he won the title he was Super Over as a face. Watch Invasion....the only other person with bigger pops was Austin. Watch SS and things leading up to it. Watch Austin's first Alliance Interview. When Angle's music hit the fans went crazy. Angle can play face or heel. It's RVD that can't play Heel.

Angle is still my current favorite in the WWF.  I like RVD, but I havn't found his matches in the WWF to be that great.  He dosn't really use any grapple moves and mainly does flashy kicks and ground attacks.  Seems kinda wierd, but I guess that's his style.

Angle is the entire package as someone has mentioned in a statement above.  Right now, he is the best the WWF has to offer in terms of a solid main eventer.  HHH hasn't done anything to note since his return in the ring, and Austin is getting stuck in feuds with drunkards and lazy giants.  Taker is getting to old to have solid matches anymore unless he's in the ring with someone like Kurt.  They had a good match last month on Smackdown.

My vote goes to Angle hands down.

Wow...around 20 posts all in (general) agreement. Havn't seen that on here for a long time. I'd love to be contraversial and break the streak, but Kurt is too good for RVD.

It's true, it's true. :)

Oh, and the Rock is still the best on the mic, although he has been on cruise control recently as someone said. I'd love a heel turn soon.

Kurt Angle, hes better at RVD at everything, IMO.

Angle is my favorite wrestler.

I just wanted to point out, am I the only one that remembers, at Summerslam 2001, Angle was getting bigger pops then Rock?

WWF writing team fucked up his face turn, but he was still over.

I still remember the huge pop he got when he won the US title, and people were chanting for Angle during the match also.

The Reason they didn't want to turn him face back then was because he was to valuable as a heel. :)

I think the whole Sept. 11 aftermath sorta killed Angle's face heat for some odd reason.  At that point Angle got the title just for US patriotic reasons and the crowd knew it, so they turned on him.  People were a bit too messed up inside to cheer the typical American hero type (especially since the guy had been a dork heel for about two years previous).

At this same time you had RVD standing up for himself, telling everyone to keep cool, and think positive.  I think without meaning to that might have struck a chord with viewers at a time when people definitely needed to stay optimistic.

I voted for RVD in this poll, for admittedly markish reasons.  Sure, Angle is superior on the mat, but I would say RVD is better in the air.  In terms of mic skills I really don't know who is better.  While RVD hasn't gotten that much mic time in the WWF, his interviews in ECW were always a highlight of the show.

I suppose I ended up saying RVD in the poll because if you asked me who I'd rather pay money to see, I'd say RVD.  I can take him seriously if they pushed him in the main events, whereas I can't take Angle seriously.  Joke heels aren't credible main eventers.  Hell, to me Angle's most interesting period was when he snapped and started hurting people a la Shamrock, he dropped the goofy facade.

what is more enjoyable than watching Angle snaping on RVD then spitting out blood pills?

Gotta go with my Olympic hero on this one. Angle is THE MAN. He can do anything and everything in the ring. The only person more dynamic in the ring is Al Snow, but Snow just doesn't meausre up to Kurt in overall performance. RVD is great, it's just that the stuff leading up to his tremendous spots aren't as good as Angle's. In between the Frog Splash, Rolling Thunder, and the amazing kicks, RVD usually doesn't bring much to the table other than standard punches and a few grappling moves. I look it at it this way. Angle could work 30 minute matches and still have have plenty of moves left by the end. (Anyone remember the piledrivers he used when feuding with Austin?) RVD on the other hand will burn out about half way if the match is just standard wrestling.
