TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2003 Yah every Bret match I see he pulls his 100mph into the turnbuckle spot which looks like it moves the ring 5 inches. I've seen other guys attempt(Owen comes to mind) but none of them come even close to making it look as good and painful as Bret. So how does he do that? Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted June 28, 2003 Either he has a really tough sternum or he knows a trick about positioning and spacing to cushion the blow.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 28, 2003 As a youngster I always wondered how could a 6' 230 pounder do that but Earthquake never did or anything...

It doesn't really hurt when you do it, you tence up ur chest and bring your arms in close to it and then when you hit the turnbuckle you back bump. If you run across the ring fast and time it all right it looks great. That's why Bret does it well. Getting the timing right is hard though.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted July 1, 2003 When anyone but Bret does it, it always looks incredibly awkward just before they hit the buckle, you can see them tense up and out of instinct try to slow themselves down. Can't say as I blame em.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 1, 2003 What about at Rumble 95 when he did it to the exposed turnbuckle? I always thought that was brutal, especially the first time I saw it.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Owen took an especially sick one against Vader. Went neck-first into the top turnbuckle.

Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted July 8, 2003 We're all forgetting about the Dynamite Kid. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who invented it or at least the one that made it so popular. Benoit does it on occasion as well.
