Does anybody know If Comedy Central's short lived black comedy, "Stangers With Candy" Is being sold on VHS or DVD? I just started getting Into The Series when Comedy Central used to run back to back reruns of The Show at 3:00a.m. Then for whatever reason, they just stopped airing. Did anybody else like this show? :headbang:

It is on DVD, the actress gave one to Conan O'Brian as a gift on his show last week.

i liked it okay. it didn't get into its groove till around the second season or so, but once it did it was pretty damn funny.

that team's earlier show though, 'exit 57', was much funnier and weirder. comedy central seriously needs to buy back the monty python rights, get the rights to 'the state', and just do a 3-hour sketch comedy block one night a week: flying circus, kids in the hall, the state, exit 57, upright citizens brigade, & maybe the vacant lot.

that. would. be. heaven.

And it's all the same episodes too.

If they'd play something BEFORE the Farley days, I'd be OK with it, but apparently SNL didn't exist prior to Farley and Sandler.

The seventies SNL's are wrapped up by E! now. And you don't want to see anything between 1981 and 1987. Trust me. The Murphy/Piscopo stuff is ok, but there's so much other crap you have to wade through in those shows. Comedy Central no less than a year go used to show a few earlier episodes here and there, but haven't in awhile.

I watch the 70's SNL's. They blow the new ones out of the water.

I actually like watching the Murphy/Piscapo years. It's like watching a REALLY bad movie..

SNL's prime years in syndication, since we can't get the 70s stuff, is definitely 87 through about 93. The 96-97 and 97-98 seasons are about the only two worth watching past Phil Hartman leaving the cast, although a few random episodes since then were great like The Rock's first one in 2000. If you want to watch the only good sketches from 80 through 86, get the Best of SNL collection tapes or DVDs. That's the only reason I know about rare gems like Opie's Back and the Weekend Update routine on the different kind of orgasms. ("Hockey players have Bobby Orr-gasms... some people have Four-On-The-Floor-gasms... Married men have I-got-mine-now-you-get-yours-gasms so their wives have door-to-door-gasms...")

As for Strangers With Candy, I think I might want to pick it up just for the "You have crabs... and your crabs have syphillis... and your syphillis has gonnorrhea..." routine.

Is Kids in the Hall on DVD?

If not, it REALLY needs to be.
