Hmmm.....I thought Charlie's Angels II would get more than $38 million. In the 40 millions for sure. 50 million was a possibility. Has to be considered a little disappointing

And the Hulk wound up getting screwed by word of mouth. It's main audience is kids, teens, and young adults. Kids look for a lot of action and, if there's a story, a simple one. Most teens don't want to have to think so much in a movie that shouldn't require a lot of thinking - it's a comic book movie, dammit. And while some young adults might have liked the movie, they're not really the ones who will go back and rewatch a movie over and over.

Kids and teens heard about how detailed and confusing some of the storylines were, and what few action scenes there were, that they stayed away from seeing it. Ang Lee alienated his main audience by making such a complex *SLOW* storyline without enough action to pay it off. Can't say I was surprised with this big dropoff....

Shocked at how well 28 Days Later did, considering how few theaters it was in.

I'm guessing T3 will make 85 million in its first five days ( it opens on Wed. July 2)

Why not? The last Terminator film (T2) opened 12 years ago. Most people regard T2 as a classic film and coupled with good to great reviews for T3, I don't see why T3 can't perform very well at the box office.

So y'all think Angels can withstand T3 as number one?

You must be joking. It premiered at 38 million and unless it got amazing word of mouth which I doubt, it will drop at least 5 million next week.

T3 will get 40 million without a sweat.

Spider-Man, Matrix Reloaded, and Other Movies have ruined it for everyone else. Not that long ago $60M and $40M were great openings, but now that's almost considered a bomb (assuming the movie in question was hyped).

Anyone up for a laugh?

"Finding Nemo" held up well in third place with $13.9 million. With $253.9 million in the bank, the animated adventure is on track to pass "The Matrix Reloaded" as the year's top-grossing movie.

HA HA!

Having seen the movie yesterday, I'd have to agree. There was nothing really bad about the movie - in terms of story it was great, and Jennifer Connelly looked her usual fine self - but there was too much talking and not enough action.

Whoever made the comment about Hulk being an "action movie chick flick" got it right.

There's truth to that, but DVD is also to blame. Now Hollywood is looking to get 2-3 big weeks and rush the thing to video as quickly as 3-4 months later (see: The Real Cancun). Hey, I like DVD as much as anybody here, but it's changed the way Hollywood thinks about pushing movies.

Actually I was joking.

But seriously despite how much I want T3 & Bad Boys 2 to do huge numbers(I'm sick of PG13 action movies) I have a feeling T3 will underperform. Maybe 40-50 million.

28 Days Later is doing better than I thought it would be, and thank God it's doing better than that pile of shit known as House of 1000 Corpses, bwahahahaha. Hell, it almost topped it in one week.

HAPPY I am that Charlie's Angels didn't even make 40 mill.

HAPPY I am that 28 Days Later did as well as it did, given that it's a) a zombie film (the genre has its fans, but it's not exactly mainstream fare) and b) it's foreign.

DISTRAUGHT I am that Hulk did so poorly. That really upsets me.....I actually loved Hulk - thought it was as good as X2 (and, in fact, had a bit better of a story altogether), and with such a low second-week take I'm afraid we may not see a second film on the character.

I thought The Hulk's story was too boring. I just couldn't make myself care about the characters at all.

What's wrong with this picture.

It was also in 50% more theaters this week than last week though.

It also wasn't a terrible movie. Cute enough for parents to enjoy, and it had little kids in it so the kids loved it. Steve Zahn rules, also. :-)

Why is that funny? Nemo was rated PG and it was a disney movie, thus every child in America had to see it as well as their parents.

I tried to download Nemo for my sister, but I think Disney loaded the net with a bunch of fakes that don't work...I did download Rugrats go Wild though

I hope everyone who thinks they "know" T3 will suck eats some crow when it comes back. Because an overwhelming majority says its great.

I thought the T3 trailer was interesting.

Really? All I could think of is "John Connor looks like a young Dr. Bashir"...

My problem with T3 is the special effects look reall amateur in the previews so far. They don't look good at all.

I don't know if they're just little effects done just for the trailers or not though.
