Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 1, 2003 Styles and Daniels are fantastic. Daniels gets the edge because he can work the mic (and is crisper...although I've seen Styles work real well with many non-cruisers now). Skipper is my personal favorite in the X division, he just rules. Can't talk a lick. I'm also in the minority that thinks he's awesome. Red gets old after a while unless he's in with someone real good. London owns. The problem is that all of these people are too small to be anything more than brief cruiser champion or job boys. It doesn't matter if a WWE crowd exploded, Vince still won't see money.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 1, 2003 Frankly, as a fan of NWA and the X-Division, I'd rather not have ANY X-Division guys in the WWE. I dont' want any of them cut off at the knees or forced to job to Bill DeMott on Velocity.
Guest Miss Independant Report post Posted July 1, 2003 God, the topic of this thread scared me, I thought that WWE was actually going to do this. If any of these men did join the WWE it would be career suicide. A man like Low Ki would get over with his style, and very very fast, but before you know it he'd have a match with someone like Bradshaw (since he is on SD for some un-godly reason) and if he wouldn't break his neck in the ring "stretching" him because Low Ki's stiff, he'd run crying to Vince and soon the entire lockeroom would be bitching about his style and he'd have to tone it down. By then, the fans would have had their expectations raised and the sudden shift from exciting, innovative performer to kicky punchy would leave him looking down a long line of opening matches on Velocity. If he's lucky. And really this goes for any of them. Spanky WAS getting over. I'm pretty sure I wasn't hallucinating that. He was doing this on charisma alone and could've easily wowed the audience if given the time and chance to really do so. He wasn't, so now he seems to be regulated to the B show. Of course, there could be a miracle and he be given a story line (do those even exist any more?) on SD, but I'm not holding my breath. Also, while Xavier doesn't exactly set my shorts aflame, I don't feel that he's over rated. He really does have a wonderful offence, it just seems to me that he has a slightly... doofy look in his eyes. On the other hand, the first time I saw Low Ki perform, he scared the shit out of me before he even touched the other man. Yeah, it'd be great to see them all weekly, but the sacrifice, from a fans point of view, would NOT be worth it.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 1, 2003 bps has his finger on the pulse. Vince doesnt' see any money in small guys. You are better off waiting for a rival promotion to start up big be it TNA, ROH, MLW, or whoever to showcase these guys and promote them as main eventers than to watch WWE teeter between taking the cruisers seriously and making them opening match and job guys. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 1, 2003 I think we all know this would never happen. The question is whether or not the fans would enjoy the match.
Guest EricMM Report post Posted July 1, 2003 More than these OVW vanilla suck-asses... Let me also say this: If the WWE refuses to give us more than five minutes a match, they should push people able to put a lot of action and pop material in five minutes. Mat wrestling won't do it in five minutes, there's no room for psychology. But there's always time for a plancha
