Guest HBK16 Posted March 29, 2002 Report Posted March 29, 2002 Did Onita wrestle for AJPW in the 80's? I heard that he actually retired a few times due to a knee injury while wrestling in AJPW. If he did, where can I get tapes of his matches? Thanks.

"I heard that he actually retired a few times due to a knee injury while wrestling in AJPW." He retired once from knee injuries then came back, started FMW and retired due to injury again in the mid 90's. He came back once more and now he's sort of in semi-retirement, only wrestling ocasionally.

Guest Thomas Moore Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Along with having a long career in Japan, Atsushi Onita also wrestled at times in Tennessee and Puerto Rico (both of which were territories known for bloody brawling, which probably influenced Onita's vision of FMW hardcore wrestling, and he really took "hardcore" to a next level).
