Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Speaking of Hogan, I got some WCW/Hogan questions to ask. 1.) Was The Warrior SUPPOSED to have an ongoing feud with Hogan in 1998 and it didn't work out? Or did WCW just pay him a gripload of money for one match to job back to Hogan 8 years after they last wrestled? 2.) NWO came back together at the beginning of 1999. Hogan lost the title to Flair, why did he disappear after that to only come back and AGAIN make Randy Savage a 24 hour WCW Champion? 3.) After winning the title from Savage, I don't remember what happened the following months, what caused Hogan to go back to being babyface? 4.) After jobbing to Sting at Fall Brawl, why did Hogan job again to Sting at Halloween Havoc? It was a very hyped match and when it finally happened, it wasn't even a freaking match! After jobbing to Sting at Fall Brawl, why did Hogan job again to Sting at Halloween Havoc? It was a very hyped match and when it finally happened, it wasn't even a freaking match! 1) As far as I know he was supposed to feud with Hogan, but he did so badly as a face (as Nash said he was out of touch with the current fans of the time) so WCW asked him to turn heel, he refused and did one of his dissapearing acts. I'm not totally certain, but that's what I think happened. 2) Hmm, he did that injury angle in the 4-way World Title match at Spring Stampede (I think) and went off for a while. Then Lex Luger accused him of driving the Hum-V into Kevin Nash's limo and he came back or something. Bit sketchy as I was watching on and off at the time. He won the Title off Savage because of Nash's interfierence because (in the storylines) Nash wanted to face Hogan again (continuing there feud from before Hogan's "injury") 3) He was already babyface from before the "injury". He turned face after the nWo reunion because of Flair's Power Trip. Flair's heel turn caused Hogan to slowly turn face. 4) Haloween Havoc was the first Russo WCW PPV. Russo never booked Hogan strongly... i don't think he was ever in Russo's plans. He got Sting to put out an open challange and it led to a Sting/Goldberg squash and Goldberg becoming champ again. Which was a good and bad idea. Killed a feud which could have ran till Starrcade on a nothing Pay-Per-View, killed Sting as a heel as Goldberg squashed him in less than three minutes and didn't give the fans what was promised (Sting/Hogan blowoff). Like I said, Russo never booked Hogan strongly and he was never in Russo's plans. So he was probably looking for a way to get Hogan out of the picture quickly and Hogan probably didn't want to job to Sting 2 months in a row and leave with no blowoff match in mind. That's what I know, if anyone knows different then tell me.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted July 1, 2003 (Ricky B provides a few better answers above) 1.) Was The Warrior SUPPOSED to have an ongoing feud with Hogan in 1998 and it didn't work out? Or did WCW just pay him a gripload of money for one match to job back to Hogan 8 years after they last wrestled? -Hogan wanted his job back. 2.) NWO came back together at the beginning of 1999. Hogan lost the title to Flair, why did he disappear after that to only come back and AGAIN make Randy Savage a 24 hour WCW Champion? -Hogan took time off for knee surgery and returned because WCW thought he could draw. 3.) After winning the title from Savage, I don't remember what happened the following months, what caused Hogan to go back to being babyface? -The kayfabe reason: His son, who was travelling with him, asked him to. He was a face anyways, and a face Hollywood was boring. 4.) After jobbing to Sting at Fall Brawl, why did Hogan job again to Sting at Halloween Havoc? It was a very hyped match and when it finally happened, it wasn't even a freaking match! -Halloween Havoc 1999 is also the first show Vince Russo booked. Coincidence? cawthon777 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2003 Hogan and Flair did the double turn at Uncensored 99. The only way Flair won the title in the cage match was because referee Charles Robinson kept forgetting the rules (that it was a 'first blood' match for instance), Flair played the cowardly heel for the bout, and it also included blatant interference from Arn Anderson. Hogan was world champion when he went back to the red & yellow and he did that at the request of his son. I believe it was at the 8/9/99 Nitro that was also memorable for Chris Benoit's first televised WCW title win (the U.S. title over David Flair). As far as Havoc, Hogan appeared on Bubba a week or two before the show and complained about Russo's booking and said that Russo wanted him to do a 30 second job to Sting at the PPV. Yes, that's right - something Hogan said on Bubba the Love Sponge actually came true!
