Just watched the Sopranos for the first time...

I don't have HBO, so I've never seen the Sopranos until today. Went to the closest Blockbust and picked up the first two Season 1 DVD's. Great stuff!!! Perhaps it is worth $80 on DVD.

Maybe.

It's a great show. I got the first season cheap on VHS cause I'd always wanted to see it. I loved it and I've gotten the DVD sets ever since. I've downloaded all of season 4 on my computer (haven't watched yet)...waiting for that to get to DVD.

It's a great show, I heard season 4 is the worst of the bunch. But 1-3 are great.

And if you like the Sopranos give Oz a chance. Another great HBO show.

It's the only TV show that I've ever labled as "perfect". Many have come close, like Sports Night and Six Feet Under, but this one is just absolutely perfect to me.

I can find no fault in it at all.

I think I'll rent the first season first, see how well the show holds up. Hopefully I'll be able to get enough money for the first season. $80 is still pretty damn high! :(

I've got my DVD sets from $30-$45 from a flea market new...just don't ask where they got them from *wink wink*

I agree with those who say that Season 4 is the worst. It's still very good, but not as great as the first three seasons.

On a related note, does anybody know when Season 5 is supposed to start?

Another great HBO show that gets no pimpage is The Wire. Problem now is they are halfway or so through the season and it's not good to try to pick up this particular show in the middle and try to keep up. The whole season revolves around one case, so getting in the middle could confuse you. It's definitely an advanced tv show. However if season one hits DVD, give it a chance. It'll be worth it.

The only TV's in my house that have HBO are in the living room and my parent's room so I don't get to watch it, but I want to.

You're not allowed in the living room?

Confucious says "man who can find no fault in The Sopranos obviously hasn't seen Season 4 or is a hopeless Sopranos mark who chooses to ignore the MANY faults of that last season."

does anybody know when Season 5 is supposed to start?

Perhaps February of 2004.

I'm allowed in there, but my parents wouldn't like The Sopranos and they watch TV in there so I figure I won't bother them about it.
