PROMO - The long march

Guest Korgath

"Do you see light at the end of the tunnel?

At the end of the tunnel?"

-Radiohead, Transatlantic Drawl

The focus lies on a blinding light, before the camera pans out to reveal a long corridor, one that seems to drag on forever. It moves back slowly, then picking up speed, till you realise that the corridor is much longer than any normal building can be.

The camera then turns around to reveal the other end of the corridor, an endless darkness, a murky hole, a gaping wound in comparison to the light we saw earlier. Smoke seems to be emitted from within but there's no fire, just a thick grey mist which simply adds to the feeling of dread from the whole image.

"My brain says I'm receiving pain

A lack of oxygen

From my life support

My iron lung"

-Radiohead, My Iron Lung

Then from out of nowhere, a roar emits. A cry of pain, a scream of anger, a wail of defeat. All these emotions come pouring out of the depths, from the darkness.

"Let down and hanging around

Crushed like a bug in the ground"

-Radiohead, Let Down

Suddenly, the sound of an Oriental gong resounds through the corridor.

*GONG*

*GONG*

*GONG*

And Dominic Korgath, SJL superstar comes forth from the darkness. He wears a red mask depicting a Japanese demon, its face scowling and wrathful. He adjusts the mask on his face slightly, and you realise that the eyes which you mistakenly believed to be painted on, were actually his real eyes. Two soulless windows into the tragedy of the Big Demon.

"Soul destroyed with clever toys for little boys

It's inevitable, inevitable, it's a soul destroyed

You're free until you drop

You're free until you've had enough"

-Radiohead, Ripcord

"Look at me!" he screams. "A mistake! A pitiful, useless man!"

The screen fades out to Korgath's first couple of matches in the SJL, beginning with his debut match on Metal against Syndicate and Shawn Tybalt.

Korgath pulls Syndicate's head between his knees, than waist locks him. As Korgath flips Syndicate up and on to his shoulders, Dangeress climbs up on the far turnbuckle. Korgath turns ninety degrees, than drives Syndicate in to the mat. Sexton Hardcastle heads over to Dangeress and begins to try and get her off the apron. Tybalt slides out of the ring and towards the nearby bellkeeper as Korgath covers Syndicate.

But the referee is busy with Dangeress. Tybalt grabs the chair the bellkeeper is sitting on, and quickly runs in to the ring with the chair, all behind the referee's vision. Korgath scouts out Tybalt with the chair and climbs off Syndicate to confront him. Tybalt throws the chair at Korgath, but Korgath catches it, though it snaps against his chest. Dangeress drops off of the apron and as she does so, Tybalt drops himself backwards hard on to the mat, where he lies prone. Hardcastle turns at the sound of the chair, and immediately sees Korgath with the chair. Korgath tries to tell Hardcastle it wasn't him, but the referee won't hear it. Hardcastle waves to call for the bell.

Axis: I can't believe this!

DING DING DING!

FUNYON: The winner of this match by disqualification, "The Rebel" Shawn Tybalt!

Hardcastle pulls Shawn Tybalt to his feet to raise his hand. Korgath immediately runs forward to take down Tybalt, but the faster man immediately drops to the mat and rolls out. He smiles as he and Dangeress quickly back their way up the ramp as "Clint Eastwood" plays over the loud speaker. Korgath stomps around the ring looking very pissed off.

"Yes! I was cheated of my victory! I swore to destroy Shawn Tybalt and his bitch, Dangeress!" Korgath stares crazily at the camera as he speaks. "I would get my chance on Wrath, when I defeated McLennan for the #1 TV title contendership!"

"But no....."

The image fades out again.

Korgath goes for a clothesline, which McLennan ducks. McLennan bounces off the ropes, and leaps up to wrap his legs around Korgath's head, and he bends backward, looking for a hurricanrana.

Axis: Oh My God! The strength of Korgath is unbelievable! He blocks the hurricanrana, and lifts McLennan back onto his shoulders!

Korgath Throws McLennan down, jarring his skull against the mat with a humongous powerbomb.

King: Korgath is signalling for the finish! I think we might see the big man fly tonight!

Korgath climbs slowly to the top rope, and pauses to catch his wind when he gets there.

Axis: If Korgath hits this move, it's over for McLennan!

King: Not just this match, but his career may be over, as well!

Korgath makes a mighty leap, and... Mclennan rolls out of the way, Korgath misses by a matter of inches!

King: That completely changes the complexion of this match!

Axis: McLennan now climbs to the top!

McLennan Pauses for an extra moment to catch his own breath, and Leaps from the top with a shooting Star Press!

Axis: Did you see the height on that, King!?

King: Oh, God, Don't tell me McLennan is going to win AGAIN...

Axis: Why not?

King: Can't you see the way he's been blatantly cheating!?

Axis: No... anyway, back to the match...

King: C'mon, Korgath! Kick out! Come on!

McLennan tiredly drapes an arm over Korgath's chest.

1...

King: C'mon, Korgath!

2...

King: Kick out! Kick out!

3!!!!

King: No! This is horrible!

Axis: No, it was a great victory by McLennan!

Funyon: The winner of this bout, and new #1 contender for the SWF Television Title... Craaaaaaaaig McLeeeeeeenaaaaaaaaan!

Axis: Korgath is now extending his hand in a gesture of respect to McLennan... and McLennan accepts! What a great match!

McLennan grabs Korgath's arm, and raises it. McLennan heads toward the ropes to exit the ring.

Axis: Wait! McLennan is coming back into the ring! Korgath's back is turned!

McLennan draws his foot back, and lets loose a mighty kick placed squarely between the legs of Korgath!

King: Interesting move by McLennan. Y'know, maybe I've been a bit too hard on this kid. Maybe he DOES have what it takes after all...

McLennan now goes to the corner and picks up his lighter. He heads back over to Korgath's prone body, and, after a few unsucessful flicks, the lighter finally ignites.

Axis: Oh My God. He's not doing what I think he's doing, is he?

McLennan holds the lighter in the air for a few second, then Brings it down to Korgath's forehead! Korgath starts to yell loudly in pain, while McLennan laughs maniacally.

Axis: This is sick! McLennan is sick! I can't watch this anymore!

King: This is great! McLennan is great! I can't get enough of this!

Finally, McLennan stops, and puts his lighter back into his bodysuit, while Korgath lies on the mat, writhing in pain, clutching at his burnt forehead.

"I choose to hide the scar. But I cannot hide the emotions any longer."

Korgath strides purposefully forward, taking big steps and forcing the cameraman to move back faster. The Big Demon raises his iron staff and pounds it against the wall in fury.

"What do you want from me now you got me

Now my energy you suck from me

And I'm holding on for dear life

Quit smothering me

Quit laughing at me"

-Radiohead, Inside My Head

"Come Crimson. Hardcore Match. Triple Threat. Oh you will feel my anger, Doug Sienkenwicz. You will feel my pain, Danny Conklin. I will boost your careers, boys. Oh yeah. I will boost them so high you won't ever need to come back to the SJL."

"Blame it on the black star

Blame it on the falling sky

Blame it on the satellite that beams me home"

-Radiohead, Black Star

"Now let me be!"

He pushes the camera away and continues his long march towards the light.

"No one's going to get in my way again!"

A very nice promo which gives some great motivation for your upcoming match. I'm very much a fan of playing off of history, and not bad here. Good luck tonight, man.
