Question regarding your media opinions

We have had countless debates in this folder concerning media coverage, and we all have our favorite media outlets. My question is how often do you watch the outlets you tend to criticize the most?

Example: I used to make fun of Phil Donahue's MSNBC show a lot, and the times I would watch it were in-between O'Reilly commercial breaks. At the time I worked out during the 8 p.m. hour and would have these shows on. Also, if O'Reilly had a segment I didn't care about, which usually happened once every day or so, I would tune into Phil. In addition, if Phil had a guest that I wanted to watch (Dennis Miller, Mikey Moore) I would ignore Bill entirely and keep MSNBC on.

And speaking of Mikey Moore...

I have made a few barbs at him in the past. I have seen 90% of Roger and Me, and I watched his next movie (I can't remember the name of it, but it involved Phil Knight of Nike). In addition, I have read at least half of each of his books "Downsize this" and "Stupid White Men" (I think that's the title of it). I also try to catch him whenever he's on a news program...

I've watched shows such as Hannity and Colmes, Scarborough Country, and the O'Reilly Factor. It's like a car wreck, you just can't turn away. Nowadays I have Fox News and MSNBC blocked off my television.

The only time I watch US news is when something huge is going on. I used to be an avid watcher of all three stations -- I'd flip back and forth, and even watch O'Reilly in its entirety -- but I've pretty much given up on it. It's rather pointless to watch shills for either side, in my opinion.

What international news stations do you watch?...

BBC mostly.

Well, there's a surprise.

Because when you're going to go for international news, make sure to pick the one with the most liberal bias.

I'm curious, what exactly do you consider to be "liberal"?

Oh, right.

Anything that I watch is immediately and unquestionably liberal. Sorry, forgot to give it the "Vyce test".

The BBC is not primarily liberal. It is anti-American. Yes, I know there's significant overlap, but the motivations can be differentiated.

Well, I wouldn't call it ANTI-American. But it definetly isn't PRO-American either. While some on the far left may be anti-American, I am not one of them. I consider myself to be the traditional definition of a liberal.

Edit: I'd also like to say the far left's anti-Americanism is no worse than the far right's nationalism. Both are bad, IMO.

I suggest you use the Dean test when you watch a program.

How does it taste with a nice roll of Regular Dean Sausage?

If it tastes kinda gamy... then you are watching liberal drivel.

If it tastes full of down home flavor then you are watching the correct programming.

The correct program? And what would that be (as if we didn't already know what you're implying)? Some pundit with a bad hair-cut who yells a lot?

I watch Hannity & Colmes, and Hardball. I have grown tired of the O'Reily factor, and Donahue isn't on anymore. I am looking forward to Ventura's show, if it ever gets off the ground.

It's physically impossible for him to do so.

I am lightened up. I was simply calling him on what he said.

I'm not playing your game, Marney. Go get your kicks somewhere else.

Maybe it's just me, but I fine the "Elect Jimmy Dean" schtick terribly amusing.

It can probably use a tilde-bang, though, to get the all-important messageboard demographic.

If Jimmy Dean's elected I'm sure his first order of business would be to ban fast-food lawsuits...

If so, he gets my vote automatically.
