Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 We have had countless debates in this folder concerning media coverage, and we all have our favorite media outlets. My question is how often do you watch the outlets you tend to criticize the most? Example: I used to make fun of Phil Donahue's MSNBC show a lot, and the times I would watch it were in-between O'Reilly commercial breaks. At the time I worked out during the 8 p.m. hour and would have these shows on. Also, if O'Reilly had a segment I didn't care about, which usually happened once every day or so, I would tune into Phil. In addition, if Phil had a guest that I wanted to watch (Dennis Miller, Mikey Moore) I would ignore Bill entirely and keep MSNBC on. And speaking of Mikey Moore... I have made a few barbs at him in the past. I have seen 90% of Roger and Me, and I watched his next movie (I can't remember the name of it, but it involved Phil Knight of Nike). In addition, I have read at least half of each of his books "Downsize this" and "Stupid White Men" (I think that's the title of it). I also try to catch him whenever he's on a news program...
Guest JMA Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I've watched shows such as Hannity and Colmes, Scarborough Country, and the O'Reilly Factor. It's like a car wreck, you just can't turn away. Nowadays I have Fox News and MSNBC blocked off my television.

I used to be an avid watcher of all three stations -- I'd flip back and forth, and even watch O'Reilly in its entirety -- but I've pretty much given up on it. It's rather pointless to watch shills for either side, in my opinion.

Well, I wouldn't call it ANTI-American. But it definetly isn't PRO-American either. While some on the far left may be anti-American, I am not one of them. I consider myself to be the traditional definition of a liberal. Edit: I'd also like to say the far left's anti-Americanism is no worse than the far right's nationalism. Both are bad, IMO.

How does it taste with a nice roll of Regular Dean Sausage? If it tastes kinda gamy... then you are watching liberal drivel. If it tastes full of down home flavor then you are watching the correct programming.
