Guest ian. Report post Posted July 3, 2003 anarchy rules 99. pretty good opener between lynn and storm, decent enough sabu credible match and pretty damn good tanaka-awesome match for the world title.
Guest BAR Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I strongly recommend 25 & 26/8/00 shows (Ballroom Blitz). The tag tournie, features one of ECW's best matches in the final.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Hostile City Showdown isn't all it's cracked up to be, it's mostly remembered for the Kimona/Beulah lesbian angle, same deal with Big Ass Extreme Bash, mostly for being Cactus' last ECW match
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Does anyone have the card for those Ballroom Blitz shows? have they been comercially released or are they available through traders? I think in order to be an old school ecw fan you have to be able to filter off a lot of the crap that was going on during the time and just really appreciate the decent matches which were often revolutionary for the time ie Psychosis/Rey from Gangsta's Paradise still holds up now as a great match but compare it to what wwf was putting out at the time (Nash/Mable at ss), it must have seemed revolutionary back then... Guest Nathan_Avara Report post Posted July 4, 2003 ECW Heatwave 1998 is a must have. Rob Van Dam and Sabu vs. Jinsei Shinzaki and Hayabusa; Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm; Jerry Lynn vs. Justin Credible; Dreamer/Sandman/Spike vs. The Dudleys if you like a good pier six. Barely Legal is pretty good too. Sabu vs. Tazz (MOTYC); Terry Funk vs. Sandman vs. Stevie Richards; The Dudleyz vs. Eliminators; Storm vs. RVD. Hostile City Showdown SUCKS! The whole tape is just brawling, and the only good match is RVD vs. Sabu. The Doctor is In has a kick ass RVD vs. Sabu match too.
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Cheers for that, how long do strongstyle take to deliver once you've ordered off them?
Guest BAR Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Well, if you order snail mail like me, you can still usually get them within a week, maybe a bit more.

ECW The Outsider is a curiosity too me- has anyone seen Scott Hall in ECW and is it any good?
Guest DRAWMUH! Report post Posted July 6, 2003 You can't talk about ECW's barely Legal without talking about the amazing 6 man tag match on it from Michinouku Pro.
Guest Markingout Report post Posted July 6, 2003 "TAKA MIchinoku Vs Papi Chulo" I saw that on Hardcore TV it owned, that tape sounds awesome. I'd buy it.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2003 I was at Pillman 2000, so my opinion may be skewered, but Raven-Credible was a pretty good brawl, and the tag team main event (which has to be good enough for me not to remember wasn't bad.) I believe Hugh Morrus & Vampiro wrestled in a good brawl but I bet they didn't get much of it on-camera. And to those with the Doctor Is In, was the opening match Whipwreck-Devon Storm not BRUTALLY long?
