Guest oxymoron Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I think this thread belong in here, any ways, does anyone have any information on her? What is she doing now? Did she do all her training in Japan, because she is leagues superior than any women wrestler to ever come out of North America.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Debbie trained with the Malenkos who I believe gave her that name because of her great skill. I think I heard before her real name is Debbie Drake. Jtapes.com has an interview from Samurai TV where she talks about wrestling. I haven't seen it though. I do know she wrestled a special singles match in Japan rescently as charity for the terroist attacks. Debbie got a bad injury from in a tag match where she completely destroyed her ankle? I don't know of her wrestling after this. I'm taking a wild guess here that the injury took a long time to heal or perhaps it didn't heal completely and Debbie thought she couldn't preform at her best anymore.Personally, I'm a big fan of Debbie Malenko as she just seemed to keep on improving in the ring. I tend to wonder how great she could have become if she kept wrestling. She just might be the biggest "What if" in wrestling history.
Guest oxymoron Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I know she had a 5 minute exhibition match against Bionic J a while back. I'm a huge fan of Malenko, and i'm constantly trying to look through my collection for any matches I missed. I was watching one of my old AJW tapes, and Debbie was totally carrying Hasegawa to a good match.
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Debbie's haircut at that time looked real similar to some woman wrestler around a few years back. I'm not really sure which one, hmmm, her name escapes me. I think she is wrestling today.
