What do people in UK do? Is it the same old thing over there?

Are you asking if the Brits celebrate the 4th of July?

Maybe it's the day we got that lousy colony off our hands. ;)

I got to sit in front of the Lincoln Memorial and watch an incredible fireworks display.

It's not Thunder Over Louisville, but it was terrific.

I only heard that damned "proud to be an american" song once...so it was a good Fourth of July.

And of course my dumb ass city played Born In The USA during our fireworks. Despite it's title and chorus that's not really a pro USA song, it's an anti war song.

That's as bad as when that one jeans company used Fortunate Son by CCR in their ads after 911 just because it had a lyric about the USA.

I got to drive through a thunderstorm to work, where we promptly had to head for the tornado shelters three times. It's still raining, and is going to all weekend. Perhaps we'll celebrate our independence on the 7th or 8th.

I had to work. But it was great because I work on a dorm maintenence crew at CSU, and there was pretty much only our crew and the cleaning crews and the RLC's. So we had the campus more or less to ourselves. I think we worked for about two hours total.

I love my job.

I celebrated the United State's birthday by eating fast-food, watching 6-8 hours of music channels on television, and reading British children's literature.

Huzzah~! Happy Birthday, America!

I had some filet mignon. Mmmm. I did fireworks Thursday, Friday and tonight, and plan on setting off the last of them tomorrow night. Like a kid in a candy store.
