Friend of mine has an offer for me.

My friend offered me a computer he built, for what he says a cheap price. Here are the specs:

AMD K6-2 500 MHZ processor. 192 MB of SDRAM. 4 MB AGP video card. Sound Blaster 16 audio card. Network card installed.

I'd use my hard drive I have right now on my Acer Aspire, and he offered to install that for free. The OS is Windows, Second Edition. Here are the specs on my computer currently:

AMD-KMtm w/ multimedia extensions. 128 MB of RAM. Cs423X DirectSound Driver.

My friend said between $150.00 - $200.00.

Now, I'm not too much on the specific specs on computers (my dad is), but I figured I'd ask you guys.

Is it worth it?

Okay than. LOL! Another friend of mine said that the stuff he was offering was too out of date, but it was a decent deal.

You can probably do about twice as good (give or take) for around the same price or about $50 more. Especially if you build it yourself.

If you have a REALLY old computer like mine and don't wanna build yourself...I'd take it up...I mean look at my ancient specs:

Cyrix 6x86 MMX

64 MB RAM

2 GB HDD

Sound Blaster Video Card

Trident Video Card (really nice)

Network Card

New Keyboard

Semi New Moniter

beat that yo!

Gotta love da old skool IMO

Considering you can go to a computer show and get barebones systems in the 2 GHz range for $250, there's no way I'd settle for a 500 MHz K6-2. I still run a 450 as a test PC from time to time, but that's about all I'd use something like that for in this day and age.
