All proceeds from the live event as well as the videotape sales of the show (which was shot by Smart Mark Video) will go toward P.J.'s medical bills. A big thank you to all of the IWA fans who came out to support one of the IWA's own... Ian Rotten announced a few additional changes to the lineup for King of the Death Matches weekend, 8/1 & 8/2. First, the announced CM Punk vs. Chris Hero matchup will now become a three way dance, as Ring of Honor star Homicide will make his IWA debut against both Hero and Punk. Also, "Sick" Nick Mondo informed the IWA this past week that he is pulling himself out of the tournament due to concern about participating in death match tournaments on two consecutive weekends (CZW's tournament is the week before KOTDM). Additionally, Badboy Hido will unfortunately not be able to be brought in due to a ridiculously high airfare cost, as he wasn't able to give definite travel plans/details in time to secure a reasonable fare. The substitutes for Mondo and Hido will be announced shortly. IWA Mid-South returns to action on Saturday night, July 12th, at the IWA Arena (1390 Woerner Ave.) in Clarksville, IN. Bell time is 8pm Eastern, and tickets will be just $7 & $8. Keep checking the message board as well as the IWA hotline at 502-569-1701 for up to date card information. Wonder how many times Bull Pain got sent into the dunk tank.

Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted July 8, 2003 8. JASON LANCASTER wrestled JARED LANCASTER to a no-contest Huh?
Guest Phr33k Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Classy thing to do. Seems to me that a lot of promotions wouldn't do things like that for former talent.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I don't think I could sit through 3 Ian Rotten matches without falling asleep
Guest Randy Pan Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I think a 6 hour stench is a bit much myself, especially when you are using and re-using talent that have already wrestled. As for those who have only heard of Ian Rotten, I suggest you give IWA-MS a try. Rotten's best wrestling days may be behind him but he is an excellent booker and is doing a great job with his promotion.
Guest bigdunn20 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Doing a great job? And by that you mean being a financial failure?
Guest Randy Pan Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I was refering to the wrestling aspect of it. In any case, Rotten has just signed a 4 year lease, so I cant see them folding anytime in the immediate future. I had my doubts at the start of last year but they have since developed some great talent and borrowed a few from other promotions. I honestly beleive things are on the up. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I don't know if Ian's had anything that could be called "his best wrestling days." Although I'm glad he turned IWA MS from a total garbrage fed into a half garbage/half wrestling few. They really improved in 2001
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 And anyone who doubts IWA-MS's technical side needs to throw down the 35 bucks for the Ted Petty Invitational 2002. One viewing, and you too can join in the CM Punk worship around here.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 IWA: Mid-South is a great promotion, I ordered the Ted Petty Invitational tournament and I was hooked. Now, I'm waiting for the 300th Show, Ultra Styles Clash weekend, and Quote the Raven to come in. Anyone else know of a good to great IWA show?
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Heard Derby Madness & Spirit of '76 were really good shows. As for anyone who says Ian's best days are behind him, watch his match from Dayton, Ohio against Chris Hero; you might just be pleasantly surprised.

Now, I'm waiting for the 300th Show, Ultra Styles Clash weekend, and Quote the Raven to come in. Anyone else know of a good to great IWA show? Deja Vu is sinking in now I saw KoDM 2001 and liked, but didn't pursue any further.. When I went to buy KoDM 2002, I was offered a deal which included Ted Petty's Invitational. I only got around to seeing that about a month ago and am spewing that I didn't see it sooner. That stuff is so addictive. I have the 300th show on the way and can't wait. I have read alot of bad reviews about "Quote the Raven", probably wont stop me getting it. The problem with reviews is that CZW marks keep putting shit on IWA and vice versa. Guest Jimmy Saint Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Quote the Raven ain't that bad really, its pretty good infact. Colt Cabana vs. David Young and Chris Hero vs. Raven are good solid matches. The two brawls Bull Pain vs. Corporal Robinson and Ian Rotten vs. Michael Todd Stratton are good fun to. Theres too many matches and its over long though like alot of IWA MS tapes. Best to watch in a couple of viewings. IMO IWA MS is putting everyone to shame at the moment on the US indys. ROH especc has become a parody of itself and CZW is still well CZW. With the bad out weighing the good in both those feds. Oh and Ian Rotten can wrestle, the Chris hero, Tarok matches proved that.
Guest ConspiracyVictim Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Im less than halfway July 4th show and its worth my money already. So far Ian v. Sezz was a huge beating on the level of the beating Dysfunction got from Ian at NBNGNG 2002. Sezz was literally purple all over his back and front at the end and he showed he could hang. The Shelley/Hero v. Jacobs/Daniels match was of course great. It was a good pace and built well and showed me why I will take these guys in a tag match anyday over The Briscoes v. AJ and Red (which I just watched before this match). Yellow Jacket and JB Insanity were hilarious. Jacket is just a guy in a bee mask with yellow tight and Insanity looks pretty much like Alice Cooper with a mullet and he throws the worse dropkicks EVER. They got beaten down badly by the two hosses. Fun Stuff...Oh yeah, both new guys got dont come back chants and rightfully so (unlike Iceberg in ROH) Cody O'neil v. Arik Cannon was the surprise of the night. The match was very good and reminiscent of the old Punk v. Cabana matches from 2001 and 2000. Good stuff as both guys seemed fluid in the ring and played their roles well. They got please come back chants and thats good from the IWA crowd. Ian came out and offered them a constant job. Purple Haze was pretty bad and just got squashed by Corp in like 6 minutes. The first Lancaster match is ok, but sloppy and short since a FAT ASS Cash Flo comes out to interfere in the match, hence the No Contest. Nate comes out and challenges him to a match after. Damn, from a guy who has seen when Flo could do 450's and flipping elbows he has let himself go. So far, if you are a regular IWA fan who buys the tapes every month then you will REALLY enjoy this show to see the new blood coming through. If not, you will enjoy it also since it has alot of good wrestling on it and some fun stuff to introduce you to IWA regulars. Buy the tape...goes to a good cause. I will try to tell my other thoughts once I finish watching it between watching Wildside TV (just got all TV since Nov 2002 which ive been missing)
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Does anyone know if buying the tape off of smarkmarkvideo.com helps contribute to the cause? Because my friedn, who has the tape, said he would make me a copy, but if the money goes to a good cause, I'm all for it.

Guest Joe_G Report post Posted July 21, 2003 Wow, just got done a marathon session of this show. The Hero/Shelley match late in the show is really good. Worth going out of your way to see. Bailey/Jacobs is also good but way too short. The fact that Jacobs calls his finisher the Contra Code is just too cool to put into words. Jacobs/Nigel McGuenniss was also great. It wasn't all good though. Is Shaq Daddy actually Uncle Honkey after losing a few pounds? He blew every move he tried and legit injured the guy he was wrestling. Easy WMOTY candidate. The Boz/Bradley vs. Yellowjacket/JB Insanity match was classic. Just two hard hitting hosses destroying the most anaymous looking indy schlubs you'll ever see. Trillion stars. Guest ConspiracyVictim Report post Posted July 21, 2003 I pretty much agree but you also have to give props to the Daniels/Jacobs vs. Hero/Shelly match. Shelly v Hero, the tag match, and Jacobs v. McGuiness were worth the tape. Also, I gotta say that I too give the Bradley/Boz vs. Yellow Jacket/ JB Insanity match a trillion stars. JB has the worst dropkick ever. Also, Shaq Daddy was horrible, and what the hell is up with using a dancing legdrop as a finish. He only did 4 moves in the match...bodyslam, Michael Jackson Leg drop, New Kids on the Block Leg Drop, and Hammer leg drop which is the move he botched horribly. I gotta say though, at least the match was short. I havent seen the last three matches yet though, but im interested in seeing Swiss Money Holding. Ive heard good things. Still, buy the tape everyone Also, while your at it, get When Good Friends become Enemies also. The Mark Wolf/ Chris Hero title change match was great and Daniels/Whitmer and the three way are good also.
