Guest snuffbox Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 as you might have noticed(er not), I havent posted anything here in several weeks. the reason for this is pretty fucked up, and ill just give a bfrief explanation - I lived with this woman for a lil over a year during my senior year of high school. She had a 2 year old boy. After we had broken up after I graduated she eventually got with another dude. I went to college and she was with the new guy, the baby was now back with his father. The new guy ended up spending a couple months in jail so my ex and I spent a lil time together at my dorm. After his release the two broke up about 2 weeks later, and he moved in temporarilly with the father of the lil boy. The father was addicted to gambling and was in very deep. The 2 guys and one other who I didnt know were shot to death in the fathers house. Now the mom and child are living with me and Im just trying my best to help as much as I can. Ive contacted my school to tell them that I will prolly be missing the fall semester to be with them and work fulltime. This is a very tough situation, I dont know if anybody here has much for advice, but I just felt like typing this out and saying why Ive been gone. Thanks
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 How far into college are you and what do you plan on doing? I "temporarily" moved in with my aunt and uncle and lived there until I was 18.
Guest snuffbox Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Ive only gone one semester. My freshman year I worked fulltime during the fall then went to classes in the spring. Now Ill prolly be doing the same thing but with some more troubles and responsibilities. Im an english major and Im looking into a future in politics.
Guest The Old Me Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Ive only gone one semester. My freshman year I worked fulltime during the fall then went to classes in the spring. Just be sure you're ready for all the responsibility of all of this.
Guest Choken One Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Just because you have some fucking drama with some girl and her kid...DOESN'T mean you can just UP AND LEAVE here ya know... Ya gotta leave a note or phone call or something... Ya had us scared.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 You're a better person than I -- It's not your kid. You were splitsville. Let her pay the price for trying to find someone better...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Yeah I would've told her to fook off too. Good for you. ^ not sarcasm.
Guest SweetNSexyDiva Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Crazy! The situation I mean. Though you may be a little crazy yourself too.. That's a big responsibility you have taken on. I understand you want to help, but do you really need to miss a semester in school when you have only just started? It is hard to go back once you've take a break... especially this early in the game. I know you are trying to help her... but is she trying to help herself too?
Guest George Dawes Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 ^ best advice you could take but a very hard decision
Guest snuffbox Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 To those who are convinced that they would not do what I am doing in this situation - I never thought this would happen or have any idea how Id handle it. And, as far as letting the girl pay the price or whatever, this is someone Ive known for years, dated/lived with, helped raise the child, and have slept with her on occasion despite her other boyfriends. The childs father and two people close to the mom were murdered. I dont think my decision will hinder the rest of my life, I will continue to work and attend school. Ive already contacted my college to tell them the situation and why Ill be missing the semester and they are understanding. Also, my posts are now very infrequent because I no longer have computer access.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 You're a good man. I'm an English major as well, but I'm getting all the pre-reqs out of the way at a JuCo first, then moving on into the junior level english classes. Best of luck to you, and I hope to see you around these parts more now.
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 ... Snuffbox? Infrequent posting? Oh. Gods. NO. How will we be entertained with an ambiguous wink anymore!? You've taught us to use our imaginations in a whole new way and think ... think outsiiiiide of the smilie dot, man.
