movies edited for tv

most movies edit out whole scenes to make room for commercials. say a movie is 2hrs.they will show 1 hr 30 minutes with a half hour of commercials.i hate this.i would show the whole 2hrs of the movie and let it run 2 1/2 to 3hrs with the commercials.what does everyone else prefer ?

Sometimes, movies shown on TV show scenes that aren't available anywhere else, including the commercial release. I cite Blazzing Saddles and Star Trek 2- The Wrath of Kahn as examples.

Halloween wasnt long enough for the TV slot at that time and they shot a few extra escenes while filming Halloween 2, and they created the TV extended edition which is available on DVD btw

I generally don't like movies on TV, especially Comedy Central, as they are great flicks, with most of the greatness cut out.

That's what DVDs are for -- besides most movies on TV are shown full screen...

Although some of the censoring jobs are funny - especially the ones in Half-Baked and Major League.

South Park: BLU was on Comedy Central at like 1:00 AM last night ~WITH THE F-BOMBS IN-TACT!

I was shocked.

TBS did that with The Breakfast Club and Some Kind of Wonderful as well.
