Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2002 In the new Ross report Jim Ross mentioned that Raw and Smackdown were getting new sets and music. He also said that Michael Cole would have a new commentating partner on Smackdown. Who do you think it is? Here is the new Raw logo: and here is the new Raw music which is off the Forceable Entry CD: http://www.wwfsites.com/forceableentry/asx...ssthenation.asx
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 That's a good start. I wonder what the new sets would look like. Raw's set should be simple. More of an old school feel. Of course someway the Titan-Tron should stay. Wheather it's big or a smaller version of it.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 I like that Raw logo a lot better. I hope the RAW set is similiar to the original one back in 93, but more of a 2002 feel. Smackdown should stay the same. It's still "new", considering it just changed about 6 months ago.
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Hmmm, I like the new logo, but I don't know how well the new theme is gonna fit. "Groove to my music" are weird lyrics to have in the entrance theme to RAW. Like Bret said, SD! doesn't really need a full makeover; a few changes would be nice, but I enjoy the set and theme song (especially the theme song) the way they are. Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Damn - I was kind of getting my hopes up that, since the WWF had the Beautiful People on Forceable Entry, that they'd re-issue it as the new Raw theme, like they used it at the very beginning of the new Raw era. Guest ShamRock Report post Posted March 30, 2002 I think it's gonna be that dude that was on the last Live Wire show.He always does the sponsor crap on Excess or it could be one of the wrestlers.Mike Sanders and Steve Richards would be fine choices.About the sets,RAW needs one,SmackDown doesn't since they got theirs 7 months ago.RAW should have the set from 1998.I liked that one the best or they just should darken the arena like during the Triple H/Rock feud in 2000. Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2002 With the look of the new logo, the music, and the all the hardcore wrestlers going to Raw, it looks like Raw is going to be more of a hardcore fed like ECW was. Smackdown looks like the show for pure wrestling fans with all the good technical wrestlers on it as well as the cruiserweight division. They are doing a pretty good job in seperating the shows to offer 2 different products. On the announcers, Stevie Richards can't be the announcer on Smackdown because he was chosen for Raw. I really hope they don't bring Tazz back to be the commentator for Smackdown, but they might do that. It will be interesting to see who it is.
Guest Judas14 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 God that's a depressing picture. Kane and Flair vs. Hall, Nash, and X-Pac vs. the Undertaker God, they better bring back Raven and Raven's Nest V3.0 or else Raw's going to be the most boring piece of shit show ever....... Guest Drury37 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 WOW Raw is getting a new set, they have the same general set since 1997.I mean it has changed a bit but it basically has stayed the same,a new set is a big deal. Thanks.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Damn... now that RAW is getting new music I'll never figure out what the lyrics are to the current version! But I'm gonna go along with everyone else... why give Smackdown an upgrade when its last upgrade wasn't even a year ago?
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 The WWF just signed a new broadcaster a few weeks ago. If we are lucky "The Brain" might return, but knowing the WWF we'll get either Coach, Kelly, Hayes, or Tazz.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Yeah, we'd be really "lucky" to get a half-senile old man who's recovering from cancer of the throat...
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Dude it's Bobby F'n Heenan. On his worst day he could do 10x better than Cole.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 I doubt Heenan ever comes back. I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see Jesse Ventura rumors sometime next year. He probably won't come back. Although it would be cool to see Jesse put Cole in his place.
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 How about Mike Sanders,I heard he got good reviews about commentating
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I'm hoping that the new commentator will be Joey Styles or Steve Corino. I like Joey Styles, and I read somewhere that Steve Corino was reported to be backstage. Or course, you can't believe anything that you read on the internet, but it would still be nice. I would rather Steve Corino return in a wrestling role in the WWF. He is my current favorite wrestler. I know that Paul Heyman is with Brock right now as a male manager, but what is to stop him from becomming a commentator again? He was good at it. I think that he could help carry Micheal Cole to reasonable commentary as well.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Well I hope SD gets a new set. The old one was much better....the new one is to.....I dunno...bulky. And that fist just looks goofy.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Define "new announcer". Does that mean "not Lawler" or "someone who hasn't done this before"? I'd say the top choices are Al Snow and Tazz, with Al being my pick. Heenan is sick right now, Styles has heat with the WWF, Cyrus may have heat, and I'm not sure they're going to start out one of their new in-house guys (Sanders, etc) as an announcer on one of the flagship shows. Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Steve Corino's catergorically denied that he was at SD looking for a job. He took his kid there and caught up with old friends. It's on his site.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I'd prefer Heyman on Raw. He could just leave the booth when Lesnar wrestles.
Guest Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Well, Brock's on Raw, so maybe Heyman could say that Smackdown's his other job or something. Since he wouldn't be "new", I guess the other options are Al and Kelly or Coach. Pray for Al. I wish Joey would be replacing Cole, though.
Guest Report post Posted March 31, 2002 On the Raw logo... where's RVD? I'd think they would want to promote his presence pretty prominently. By the way, nice avatar, Damaramu.
Guest Report post Posted March 31, 2002 if they bring in Joey he's going o have to take a back seat to cole since Cole is sucking dick to get where he is and vicne loves his blowjobs.
Guest Risk Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I hate Michael "takes it in both holes" Cole. I think Stevie is going to get the job.
Guest Risk Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I hope Jerry "prostate cancer" Lawler and Ross stay off my screen.
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I'm glad they're changing the SD set, the fist is really retarded. Personally, I love the Raw set up, why change something that works? I hope they hire Styles to be with Cole, and Cold stops doing play by play.
Guest Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Well, I don't see them bringing in Joey Styles as a commentator since he has always done play-by-play. Of course, he's much better than Mitchell Cole, but I doubt they'll replace him. I really hope they bring in Heyman for commentary. Michael Cole is boring enough by himself, they definitely don't need a face doing commentary.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Heck, it's not like al snow's busy. i heard raven got a tryout for smackdown? doubtful now he has a belt and is the only hope of raw being entertaining. I hope he's booking the hardcore division, that will rule. He planned out most of the backlash match with rhyno, which was pretty much the greatest HC title match ever. PS 'takes it in both holes' Cole made me laugh
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted March 31, 2002 How about, "I hope Austin actually comes back, and with him, I hope Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr. are drafted to Raw too". I don't know about you guys, but besides Booker T, RVD, and Lesnar, Raw is lacking major talent. Austin coming on Raw, as well as Guerrero and Mysterio, would be a big boost for their show. I wish Benoit was on Raw, so we'd see the feud we were supposed to (for WM) Austin/Benoit......
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 From the Rumble to WrestleMania the companies supposedly have interpromotional feuds. So as long as Austin lasts in the WWF that long, the match may still happen.
