Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 7, 2003 I have some dvds that can access DTS, and our reciever also can use this format. Most of my other dvds have Dolby 5.1, which the reciever can also use. What is the difference, and which one is the superior format? I have watched movies in both formats and didn't hear a HUGE difference. Of course, there were other people here so I wasn't really trying hard to pick out differences in the sound.......So what is the difference?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 7, 2003 DTS vs. 5.1 From what I understand DTS is slightly better than 5.1.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted July 7, 2003 DTS vs. 5.1 From what I understand DTS is slightly better than 5.1. Same here. But I have 5.1, and I'm pretty darn happy with it, and I'm too cheap to buy a new reciever just so I can listen to either...

Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted July 8, 2003 I have a DTS upstairs and 5.1 in the basement. I like using DTS for concert DVD's though.
