Favorite "crazed fan" moment

Recommended Posts

Guest papacita

I dunno about anybody else, but it always makes me laugh when crazed fans hop the guardrail and get wrestled down by security. I dunno what it is, maybe it's that the announcers try so hard to ignore it when it happens, but it cracks me up everytime. My favorite crazed fan moment was @ the July 96 IYH for the Tag Match between HBK, Sid and Ahmed and Camp Cornette. Not only did just about half the front row fall over the guardrail trying to get at HBK during his entrance, but during the match, while Vader had HBK in some kinda chinlock, some fan came out of the crowd and climbed to the top rope and Ahmed, Bulldog and Owen all rushed him. It was funny as hell. Anyway, what I wanna know is does anyone else have a favorite "crazed fan" moment?

Austin/HBK @ King of the Ring 97 when that retard fell over. That was hysterical.

The only one I've seen was when Jericho was making his entrance and some guy came out of the stands and bum-rushed him. Jericho just walloped him though, providing me with a pretty good laugh as I saw the editors trying to cut it out.

You know what?  This would be a great idea to use when introducing a new wrestler.  Preferably a more normal looking, skinnier wrestler.  Let's say, during Jeff Hardy's entrance, when he climbs the turnbuckles to do the thing with his fingers, some fan in the corner of the screen jumps the guard rail and rushes into the ring and hits Jeff Hardy from behind.  Security would then run in and beat the shit out of the guy, all while the cameras and JR are trying to ignore him.  After this, the "crazed fan" would not appear again until SmackDown, when he would climb in to attack another wrestler.  Finally, one day, a wrestler says he's had enough of him and decides to challenge him to a match.

Heh heh... I remember when during MTV's Spring Break the nWo was there and a guy was throwing stones, and Nash jumped off stage and beat the crap out of the guy, as Hall said they'd sue him. Funny stuff, saw that on replays. Then on WCW Thunder four guys jumped the rail to get at Major Gunns but guards beat them down. They were frantic to edit it, and pretty much did a good job.

Sounds familiar. Oh yeah, Tori.

Well this wasnt on tv but still was funny.  At a house show in July 1992, after the show, this crazy guy jumped into the ring and started acting nuts running the ropes and elbowdropping the canvas before security rushed back and got him.  Boy did we have a good laugh at that one.

Yea Jericho really punked that one fan.

Another time is when that guy jumped over by the RAW set just before Linda announced Mick Foley returning for WM 2000.  HHH just tackled the guy and Linda kept a straight face.

Also at WM 4, when Bob Uecker came out, some guy stands in his way and kinda hugs him and security beat him up.

what was up with that dork at wm3? piper was cool though and shook his hand.  Why would you pay alot of cash to see a show, then ruin it by jumping.

Recently at the WWA PPV I was at in Vegas, Lenny Lane threw his lollipop at the crowd and it kinda hit this kid, s he threw it back and it hit ref slick johnson in the side of the head, too funny then security got him.

I seen some stuff a Indy cards too.  During intermissions the kids were running around by the ring and some kid hits his head on the ringpost ouch.  and my dad hit the ref with a candybar and some wrestler too cuz he yelled at us.  the last time they had a show here the kids kept throwing stuff.  It sucks cuz the club and or city banned them from coming back for some reason.

I believe they used that to introduce The Cat in WCW.  They had him run in and save Glacier a few times.

That was some great stuff.

My favorite fan moment was during the DDP-Raven feud when a fan jumped Raven from behind. Raven was walking backwards to the entranceway trying to incite DDP over the mic. All of a sudden somebody jumps him in mid-speech. I thought it was another wrestler until security killed the guy.

Anybody remember the details of this incident?

The fan run-in angle was also used to introduce Savio Vega when he came in to save Razor Ramon.

Chyna was also introduced as a "fan" than got involved in a match, by attacking Marlena at IYH: Final Four.

A scrawny guy tried to interfere in the Flag match at IYH: Badd Blood. Fortunately (for him) the referee stopped him as he was sliding under the bottom rope, because the Bulldog was approaching him, ready to kick his ass.

How about No Way Out 2001? Somebody threw a full can of beer that hit Steve Austin in the forehead/face when he was supposed to be playing dead after the match. Moments later (when the cameras cut back to the commentators table) you can see security escorting some fat guy wearing a ballcap out of there.

Also at NWO '01, a guy is literally dragged away by two security gaurds on camera in the first few rows during the main event.

I guess about a year ago, when they were in Long Island and Mick was talking to Vince, some guy got onto the apron but Jim Dotson made the save.

Jericho said "case in point" Then Rock said to Jericho "Can you keep your Jerkoff (or jackass) dad out the ring.

Not really a crazed fan moment but on the subject of DDP/Raven. On mtv live (Carson's precurser to TRL) DDp was on there promoting Stuck Mojo i believe as well as a speaking guest. During the end of the show, a guy in street clothes runs out and nails DDP with a stop sign and the fans(plants) are left scratching their candypop heads. Kind of funny.

There used to be a DJ here in Buffalo (big, foul-mouthed black guy) that used to always attend the shows at the Niagara Falls Convention Center when they used to have them there.  At a WWF Challenge taping in 1993 he started going at it verbally with Shawn Michaels while he was wrestling a jobber.  Before doing his side-suplex. Shawn yelled "this is for you blackie!" right at the guy.  Good wholesome family entertainment :).  Then at another show in 1995, he got into it with British Bulldog before his match.  Bulldog must have talked $hit with him for 10 minutes before he got into the ring.

I think it was at the same show in 1995, HHH was wrestling Henry Godwin in a slop match.  Henry grabbed the pail and slopped it on HH outside the ring, but also managed to get a fan pretty messed up.  The guy leaned over the rail and slapped Henry, which was pretty funny - but it got the guy escorted out (to "let him stay!" chants, of course).

Remember from Beyond the Mat's bonus section?

The Godwinns are coming to the ring, and this jackass spits on Henry. Henry turns toward him and says "Don't spit on me." So the guy does it again. Henry turns around once more and goes "DON'T SPIT ON ME." So as he turns around, the guy does it AGAIN. Henry then grabs him by the shirt and shoves him as refs seperate the melee.

More Godwinn Related Shenanigans: At a house show in Providence, RI, Henry slopped the crowd. Some guy gets hit and yells incredibly loudly, "You fucking southern cocksucking faggot, I'm gonna fucking murder your motherfucking ass"....

Funny stuff...One time in an ECW show in Schenectady (when Scott Hall wrestled his 1 of 2 matches for the promotion), before the show started, this guy casually walked into the ring.  He started climbing the turnbuckles and posing and everyone cheered him.  He really wasn't doing anything wrong.....security ran in and beat his ass.

I went to an indy show in early 1994.  After the show ended, dozens of people rushed the ring, and at least 20 people actually got in the ring, ran the ropes, jumped off the 2nd turnbuckle, etc.

It was pretty damn funny.

Um Mark4Steamboat that wasn't what happened at all. DDP was there talking and the Foo Fighters were there also. Carson tried to go to a clip and Raven appeared on the screen instead. He did his weird Raven-diatribe and then when he went off DDP started to laugh but Raven ran up and hit him with a stop sign. Then he evenflowed him through the coffee table. The Foo Fighters and Carson like cleared the area and acted all shocked.

It's not really crazed fan stuff but I hate it when fans get on camera and all they can do is either a) flip it off....that is so immature or b) stick up the "#1" sign and scream like a jackass.

Couple houseshow incidents at the same ECW show at Wilkes-Barre in 1998. Lance Storm was thrown into the guard rail right in front of us (we had front row) and my friend slapped his back. Not like a slap but like a good job Lance, and Atlas security came over and grabbed my friend by the shirt and said, "You will NOT do that again." Kinda scary.

Same show, at the end, it got a little crazy and people started throwing chairs and people were running in the ring. It was a CRAZY site. I saw people get nailed right in the face w/ chairs. I was only like 16 at the time, it was a little overwhelming.
