Guest DrTom Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I passed on the second hour of Raw (I know, I missed SO much...) to watch a two-hour show on the History Channel about comic books. In addition to being hosted by the yummy Peta Wilson, the show was pretty informative about the history of the industry, its peaks and valleys, and the major creative forces. I'm sure they had to gloss over a lot to cram 60+ years into two hours, but for "casual" comic fans like me, it was an interesting show. Anyone else catch it?
Guest MrRant Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I watched it today and thought it was pretty informative. They seemed to focus on how comics reflected America at various time. I especially like the WWII.
Guest El Satanico Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I saw it a week or so ago and I loved it.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I believe there's two of them, one on the history of comics and the second on the history of comic superheroes. Both have been quite entertaining.
Guest El Satanico Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I believe the one they are talking about is the Superhero one, which is the one I saw. Was this History of comics an earlier special?
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Nevermind, it's the same one. I caught the last hour of it last time it was on and the first hour of it this time, hence I thought it was two different specials.
Guest starvenger Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 It was a good special. I wish they could spend more time on comics, though.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Is it going to air again? I meant to do several things to remember it, but I just forgot.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 They've shown it several times in the past week, I wouldn't be surprised if they showed it again. Just check out their website for their TV schedule.
