I finally got around to watching Pi, and was just wondering what anyone who has seen that movie made of the ending. I assumed Max had seen God and then used the drill to kinda lobotomise himself to destroy the number.

 

I don't know though, anyone have a different interpretation?

Well, I think your interpretation is probably the right one, certainly the most obvious.  It could also be argued that he might've died and gone to heaven; notice how he can't use his "gift" anymore at the end of the movie, and seems pretty happy about it.
