Guest: Danny Doring

Date: 9th July 2003

Your Hosts: Daniel Edler & James Walsh

Recap By: James Walsh

In the second and last interview stemming from our initial interview with Jasmin St. Claire, Danny Doring speaks out against the 3PW owner and the Blue Meanie in hilarious comments that shouldn’t be missed for the world. In addition, if you didn’t know who Danny Doring was before this interview (which runs for 51 minutes including the after show) – he’s definitely going to be a name you won’t forget in the future.

And, in the biggest news of the week, TII debuts its new entrance theme! Check it out to find it out, by clicking one of the download links at the bottom of this post!

Danny Doring

-- Doring was a wrestling fan growing up. He grew up watching it on a little 13-inch television with his Great Aunt and was infatuated with it.

-- Randy Savage was the reason he became so fascinated with the business. He said he was thrilled to have met him about a month and a half ago.

-- Doring trained at the House of Hardcore in 1996. At the time, Perry Saturn and Tazz were the trainers. Later, Bubba Ray Dudley started training them.

-- Roadkill graduated the House of Hardcore as well. They were the "left overs" of the company and travelled with the ring crew and they'd just put them in the ring with whoever just to get them experience. They weren't really a concrete tag team at the time as they were just "after thoughts." Doring wrestled under a different name at the time and Roadkill was just wearing a brown outfit. Al Snow said that Roadkill looked Amish and the "Angry Amish Warrior" was born. So, Paul Heyman came up with the idea of keeping them a tag team and it came together.

-- He didn't have a real problem with Elektra. The problem they did have was that she missed a few important television appearances for Roadkill and Doring and that created tension. He alludes to that being why they lost her in an angle but says that there was tension for a while but they have since cleared up their differences.

-- Winning the ECW tag team titles is the second biggest moment of his career. The biggest was shortly after that when Tazz came to Queens after he had been in the WWE. Tazz dedicated it to Doring and Roadkill and brought up some personal things. Danny says it brought a tear to his eye.

-- He realized ECW was in trouble when the checks bounced the second time around. He said at that point some of the guys stopped showing up to the house shows and all they had was the main stays.

-- The last show was in Pine Bluff. He said a lot of people said it was the last show but he didn't want to believe it. He talks about the end of the night, as the Sandman was in the ring how everyone came out and drank beers. He said it felt like a graduation. He didn't want to believe that was it but Sandman was right, sadly.

-- The Indies don't really compare to ECW. He says you get used to being with the same guys every week and now you have a different cast of characters every week. He has made a lot of new friends through it, though. But, he feels ECW was the time of his life.

-- NWA Florida is classy place to work. He was the NWA Florida champion for 8 months and the promoter, Joe Price, has done a lot for him professionally and personally. He says he teamed with Steve Corino there which was an honor.

-- He'd like to work for NWA TNA. He mentions that there has been a bit of an ECW invasion of late with Team Extreme so he feels he would fit in with some sort of angle like that perfectly. He has not seen the show yet.

-- He had a match with Bill DeMott on Velocity. He worked a few WWE shows that week including a match with Hass & Benjamin. He didn't feel it was a good performance on his part when he wrestled them but feels the Velocity match with DeMott was a better representation of who Doring is as a wrestler, at least as much as you can show on Velocity. He credits Bill DeMott for being a very cool guy and talking to him about the match the whole day. Doring would love to work for the WWE again.

-- We mentioned the Jasmin St. Claire interview where she mocked Doring. Doring tells us that he was waiting for us to mention it because he had a million listeners of the show email him what she said. He says he is "so loving this one" as he starts to get into the rant at Jasmin and Brian.

-- The remarks Jasmin made didn't make sense in Danny's opinion. He says he doesn't talk behind people's back and he'd tell her to her face that he doesn't like her. He mentions that she mentioned Chetti as well and questions, "who does she think she is?" He states that she doesn't go anywhere or do anything besides her little 3PW thing saying that she must think she's Vince "Fricken" McMahon. He said she told him that she wouldn't tolerate that in her fed, well he just didn't care. He said the basic reason for working for 3PW in the first place was to make a few bucks and to see some people he hasn't seen since ECW closed. He doesn't care about her company, boyfriend, or sponsors.

-- As far as having Brian (Blue Meanie) paying him when his mother died, Danny quickly mentions that you should never mention the death of his mother ever quite emphatically. He says she is immature and classless to have done that and her rants aren't even sensible. He says that he is his own man. He owns his house, his car, and he is putting his younger brother through college. He has been raising his brother for five years and has no parents. If he ever gets in trouble, he has friends that could help him with money. He says that when someone dies, you send flowers but not money. He says she did not pay him and to say she did was ludicrous.

-- "As far as having solid gold between my legs, she's right. Not only that but I have two big platinum balls sitting right here." He assumes that Jasmin was trying to knock him by saying that but again he felt it made no sense. He then goes on to mention that Jasmin called him several times with a blocked number. He'd pick up, she'd hang up. At 4:30 in the morning, she finally gets through while he is sleeping and leaves a really long message where she insults his family and calls him a "two time loser" which he says makes absolutely no sense.

-- Closing up with Jasmin, "She's classless, she's ignorant, she's immature. One of these days, her and her little boyfriend Meanie are going to come out of their little 3PW world, and it's not just me but a slew of others will be waiting to say hello. Love you Jasmin! Love you to death!"

-- He thought XPW would be different. He was surprised at how respectful they were. He says some of his matches there went well but others were booked poorly and probably had too many people involved or other problems.

-- He says he saw XPW falling apart when there were only 20 or 30 people in the crowd but says he thought maybe they'd pull it together when they had that one big show in Pittsburgh but he never was paid for the show. He is still owed money.

-- He assumes XPW is done. He says it's a bad sign for XPW that Shane Douglas is in TNA now.

-- He feels some of his best matches were himself and Roadkill against Nova and Chetti as well as against the FBI. He said more recent good matches were against "Crowbar" Devon Storm while working for "Jasmin St. Clap." Danny says he was losing his love for the business but working with Devon really made him enjoy it and he can't wait to work with Devon again in the future.

-- Danny is recovering from a shoulder injury. His brother is in college. So, he's ready to jump back in the business and work hard. He is very optimistic. "Balls to the wall, big platinum balls."

-- Our fan loved and interviewee hated Word Associations includes names like Elektra, Roadkill, Paul Heyman, Francine, Rob Black, and more! One of the funniest word association games we've had!

-- DannyDoring.net is his official site. He says he has merchandise, pictures, and more.

I like Danny for the most part, but he just doesn't work for me without Road Kill, and vice verca.

Roadkill's useless without Doring, but I feel Doring could do something as a singles.

Problem is, XPW did their shit so wrong when it came to Kaos vs. Doring.

Here's how it could've gone.

September (as it happened): Doring runs in on Kaos after the match.

October:

October: Doring faces Kaos for XPW TV title. They cheat to get the win over Doring, but Roadkill runs out for the save.

November: Doring/Roadkill vs. Kaos/GQ. GQ and Kaos get the win thanks to Roadkill turning. Soon enough, on XPW TV, a promo with Roadkill sans the beard dressed up like a big member of the Enterprise.

December: You could have Roadkill vs. Doring, a gauntlet where Doring has to get through GQ and Roadkill to get to Kaos, etc. No matter what the outcome, Doring goes over GQ and Roadkill, just not Kaos.

January: Doring finally gets his match with Kaos, and whatever XPW wanted to happen could've happened.

Good idea on Doring-Kaos, That would have been more interesting for sure...

But the booking of The Kaos Vs. Doring feud is a masterpiece when compared to XPW's Kaos Vs. X-Pac feud

Yeah, they take the belt off Kaos randomly, then X-Pac fucking no shows the next show. Idiots.

The funniest part of the feud was at Merry F'n X-Mas when the crowd was chanting "Boring!" during the match. Doring asks the crowd if they want to see some crazy shit, and he goes to a chinlock. As a result, the crowd starts chanting, "Holy shit!"

Doring is Underated as a singles star. He can go heel or face gretaly...he is a HUGE babyface in MCW.

Speaking of, kinda disapointed he didn't mention MCW. He is their champion, and their last show is coming up this month.
