Is there such a thing as having too many tapes?

Recommended Posts

I myself have about 200 tapes, I'm curious if anyone else ever gets to the point where they have so many tapes it becomes difficult to decide what to watch on any given day.

Incedently I'm watching "Best of the Hollywood Blondes" right now.

I don't know...I have maybe 50+ tapes/dvd's, but it seems that I never watch them and they just sit around for the most part. When I am in the mood to watch a tape or something, it usually is whatever is the most accessible and easy to find.

I'm quite the opposite. I have around 100 tapes and am starved for stuff to watch. I'm always looking for something to watch, especially since it's the summer holiday, I've just finished my exams, and dammit, I need wrestling!

I just ordered SummerSlam '91, which is one of the last old WWF videos that Amazon have got left. And, I'm trying to download some old stuff, but my computer is slow as shit. My tape collection is far from complete.

I always feel like I am looking or serching for more and more tapes, but when I sit down to watch something I try to think what I am in the mood for. (puro, Nostalgia, classic wrestling. or spot fests, etc.)

Yeah, I've seen the show, haven't got the tape, though. I was never a big WCW fan when I was younger. I went to a show and all but I just had a passing interest in it. So I'm trying to catch up now.

I have well over 400 tapes. The sad part is that I have around 250 weeks of WWE programming, including a few Heats after they gave up on the show in 2000, a couple of Metals that Raven was on and a fair amount of Afterburns following Smackdown being pulled from our screens.

I am currently rewatching my entire collection, and man 2000 was a beautiful place. Makes me look forward to Raw each week until I remember what year it is and that last week did not include an entertaining HHH, Kurt Angle at his usual best or E&C shinnanegans...

I also have a good amount of Best Ofs, a couple of Shoots, 3 Super 8s, the majority of TNA thus far, the first 14 ROH shows and I will be buying everything else ASAP and other assorted crap, even WCW!

But yeah, 200 is definately not too much. Wait until videos have replaces clothing in your drawers and you are having to rearrange entire cabinets and closets to fit in as many videos as possible. Then think about taping over old, pathetic Nitros...

Oh yes, the year 2000 RULED OF AWESOMENESS! In 2000, I couldn't record many of the shows or PPVs, but I do have one RAW. The RAW when HHH showed that footage of Angle crying at the Olympics. Foley later came in, but joined with HHH in making fun of Angle. Wow, those were the times.

I really would like to have ALL OF the year 2000 wrestling tapes...........but it won't happen.

I want Wrestlemania 6, but everywhere I've seen it, it's been close to £20 and I refuse to pay that much.

I have every Raven appearence from his WWE debut to the end of the alliance, on tape...which is actually only just over a year. But the amount of shitty 'Metals' I had to sit through makes my collection so much more impressive.

Too many wrestling tapes? Never!

Maybe if WWE was putting out a watchable product week after week I could see somebody saying that, but until they do, my tapes are the only thing saving me from going insane.

I have between 150-200 tapes (I haven't found all my RAW tapes, so thats why I'm giving a long stretch of aprox.)

I rarely watch anything after 1994 unless I want to see something like Bret/Austin or Cactus/HHH.

I have alot of wrestling vcds and tapes. Its not hard to pick something to watch. Old TNA, old (to me) RAWs (98-99), some older WCW ppvs, Ring of Spots, I mean Honor, which is what I watch normally. YOU CANT GIVE ME ENOUGH SPOTFESTS. YOU JUST CANT~! I'll take Red vs Rey Jr., or Red vs Jody Fliesch 10 times in a row over Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit vs American Dragon anyday, YOU HEARD ME, ANYDAY OF THE F'N WEEK~!!!

Does that mean you have the Raven/Low Ki match?!? Is it any good?

"Ring of Spots" - Well sure, in Scramble matches, which I am sure is all you are talking about.... Right?

I love a good spotfest. The scrambles, the Izzys, Angeldusts, SATs, Divine Storms, Briscoes, and the Reds of the wrestling world will always have a place in my heart.

Not to shill my videos or anything, but RenegadeX28: I have all the RAWs and SmackDowns from the year 2000 and all of those tapes are labeled, unlike the last 3 years worth of WWF/WWE TV, which I have yet to label. I haven't been able to find my beginning of September 2000-mid-October 2000 videos, but they have to be somewhere. I'm currently involved in a big trade, but after I complete this one, I will be more than happy to copy any of the 2000 shows you would want a copy of for a tape trade or at a low price.

I probably have about 200-300 videos since I have recorded all the RAWs since the beginning of August 1999 (besides 2 episodes), all the SmackDowns since August 1999 (when it started, including the April '99 permiere episode) (besides 1 episode), all the Heat shows since January 2001, and the Velocity and Confidential shows since they started (besides 3 of each show). I also have miscellanious episodes of WCW Nitro, RAWs from 1998-1999, and plenty of WWF and WCW PPV and Compilation tapes, as well as a few Japanese tapes.

Even though I have tons to watch that I haven't seen before, I haven't had too much time in a while to sit down and watch them, until recently when I finished school for the summer...now I'm very much enjoying them, since I have the time.

as of 7/10/03 i have 557 tapes. i have all the raws, nitros, heats, saturday nights, worldwides,thunders,shotgun/jakked

excess, confidential, velocity episodes from roughly around 97 on. i also have most of the ppvs from wwf and wcw from about 86 on. here is the bad part no upn, i have several smackdowns thru the years but not as many as i wanted. i am constantly trading or buying tapes. i have the first 7 roh shows and i have some japan and even a little mexican wrestling. currently watching a midsouth tv tape from 85. funny seeing tommy pritchard as a jobber. i have some of the older stuff like smw, awa, wccw, midsouth, crocketts nwa, also have about 20 some shoots. if i dont have anything new to watch ill throw in an all japan tape or some nwa tape from 86/87. im expecting 28 tapes in and i have 6 left to watch so im going to take a lil break from trading to catch up.
