Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Personally, I have yet to see Toxic Avenger II and Toxic Avenger III: The Last Temptation Of Toxie, and they're considered to be the worst. But I already own The Toxic Avenger and Citizen Toxie on DVD, and I love them both. The entire deal behind Toxie is great. Melvin was a 98 lb. weak nerd that worked as a janitor at the Tromaville Health Club until four bullying criminals forced him to leap out of a window, while wearing a pink tutu, and into a barrel of toxic waste that was on the back flatbed of a truck. The toxic waste transformed Melvin into THE TOXIC AVENGER, Tromaville's favorite hideously deformed hero of superhuman size and strength. Under the control of his Tromatons, Toxie seeks out the scummiest of the scum and "sets them on the righteous path" (although this usually means dismemberment and a mop-aided beatdown). So yeah...GO TROMA TEAM!
Guest razazteca Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 But who would win in a fight if Toxie ever battled the "Kramer" character from UHF?
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 As someone who owns/saw them all, Toxie 2 wasn't THAT bad. Part 3, however...nothing really redeeming (as far as Troma movies go with redemption, lol). I love the little in joke at the beginning of part 4 (...followed by two sequels...sorry about that). Favorite would have to be the original, just for the "80's" look and feel it had to it. Every time I watch it I feel like I'm a kid again, getting his first glimpse of Toxie on Showtime or whatever channel I first saw it on.
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Am I the only one who thought this was a John Merrick thread?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 NEVER compare Toxie to that freak of nature Sloth. Toxie > Sloth.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Indeed. Sloth never had his own cartoon, bitches.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 And if he did, he wouldn't have one as cool as TOXIC CRUSADERS. Man...I wish I had the theme song from each Toxie movie with me. "Body Talk" from the original, the glam-ish theme from 2 and 3...and the hardcore version for 4.

Body Talk was on there too, but it had an insane download time so I cancelled it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Oh, The Dickies did the theme for that? Nevermind, got it then. Ah, The Dickies. So glam rock, yet considered punk.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I loved the cartoon, myself. Had all the action figures AND...wait for it... THE COLORFORMS. I was disappointed that Spoiler (Highlight to Read): you couldn't take off the main bad guy's mask and see his bug head. I love figures with masks that work.
