Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 11, 2003 From DC Comics: BATMAN #620 100 BULLETS top guns Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso set their sights on the legend of the Dark Knight when they begin a landmark six-month run on BATMAN. Solving the murder of a child's parents forces Batman to revisit the tragic night that created him, where the most shocking discovery of all awaits. The mystery behind the mythos unravels in BATMAN #620 this October. Thoughts: I'm a big fan of 100 BULLETS and I hope they can bring back the gritty neo-noir sensibilities that was missing from the Loeb/Lee run. I'm hoping that final teaser line was NOT an indication that they're going to fuck with Batman's origin. And I hope this six month run isn't one big arc. Guest JMA Report post Posted July 11, 2003 I'm gonna really miss Loeb and Lee when they leave. I'm really sad Hush has to end in the first place.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted July 11, 2003 they made a hell of a good choice to replace them though.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 11, 2003 I'm gonna really miss Loeb and Lee when they leave. I'm really sad Hush has to end in the first place. Hush was okay. It tried to take away the dark, brooding, nature of Batman and that's really what helps differentiate the character from the rest of DC's Golden Gods. In the end, Bruce Wayne: Murderer? > Hush
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted July 11, 2003 That thing about the mythos...I heard somewhere that DC is about to reveal something about who killed Thomas and Marthda Wayne, since post-crisis Bruce doesn't know who did it. Of course, pre-crisis everyone knew the gunman as Joe Chill.

Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted July 12, 2003 Zero Hour, yeah. My bad. I still stick with my guns and say its about the murder.
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 12, 2003 I really hated Zero Hour. Things at DC really started to suck once Superman was killed. Anyway, I much prefer "Hush" over the somewhat recent Batman story arcs. I was getting really tired of the way DC kept trying to separate Batman and Catwoman. I was getting really tired of the way DC kept trying to separate Batman and Catwoman. What? JMA, if anything, Batman and Catwoman's romance seems tired and forced rather then an effective part of the story. Especially when one considers that for the first time in history Catwoman has her own comic at DC (Yeah, she's had her own comic before, but its never been successful for a long period before. Just to clarify) and it seems like it's going to be here for the long haul. Catwoman becoming Batman's love interest only hampers her development as a character in her own book, and destroys what little credibility she had as a legitimate superhero and not just a Batman spin-off. And I can't see how anyone who enjoys comics can place HUSH over NO MAN'S LAND or even BRUCE WAYNE: MURDERER ? which featured what may have been Chuck Dixon's finest work on the secondary Bat-books. Guest JMA Report post Posted July 13, 2003 It's not tired because DC has done their damnest since after Crisis to keep them apart. That just doesn't work for me. I am, however, a fan of Catwoman's new book. It's very realistic and the art is just great. I wonder how Selina knowing Bruce's secret will play out in her own book. And I'm not a big fan of Dixon. I didn't really like his work in Green Arrow or Nightwing.

They didn't really turn her face till the early-90's when the whole "bad girl" thing was oh so cool. Also, why do you like Hush more then BW:M? I was more interested in your response to that. Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I'm gonna have to wait to read all of Hush to get the 'big picture', because frankly, about 6 issues in or so, and I ain't impressed. Yeah, honestly. Lee's artwork has been great, but Loeb has failed to blow my skirt up like I thought he would.

Yeah, honestly. Lee's artwork has been great, but Loeb has failed to blow my skirt up like I thought he would. Yeah, the whole arc feels like a season of The Batman/Superman Adventures. There really hasn't been any of the psychological or gritty elements found in NML or BW:M.
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Also, why do you like Hush more then BW:M? I was more interested in your response to that. Simple. I preferred the plot and art of Hush. I didn't much care for Sasha or her character. Although, my favorite Batman story ever remains Year One. I hope this answers your question.
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah, the whole arc feels like a season of The Batman/Superman Adventures. I really miss that show. I can't believe the WB cancelled it.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Is this the thread that caused zsasz to start a new thread in NHB calling JMA out? It was more for the fact that I asked him a question and it took him 3 days to respond, and I lost my temper.
Guest caboose Report post Posted July 15, 2003 There was really no need to over react. But meh, waiting for an answer can be annoying.
