Urbina to Marlins

ESPN.com reports that the Rangers have traded Ugueth Urbina to the Marlins for minor leaguers Adrian Gonzalez, Will Smith and Ryan Snare. Urbina becomes the Marlins closer.

Also, Kevin Brown was placed on the 15 day DL. This is significant because it opens a slot on the All Star roster. Perhaps this is Dontrelle Willis' opening.

*UPDATE*

Willis is indeed Brown's replacement.

I was on the fence about the ASG this year, but if Willis gets some good innings, I'll check it out. He's amazing.

Hell yeah...haha this gives my Marlins take the wildcard thread some credibility. Sure, they still have to leapfrog about five teams or so, but with a solid closer, it's possible.

Sucks that Adrian Gonzalez had to go, but whatever it takes. And how about one of the other names...

Will Smith, and he played for the Marlins, in Miami. Poor guy probably got made fun of every day. Bienvenido a miami!

FUCK.

I had Urbina in the money league, which is AL-only. Now I need a goddamn closer. Fucking Rangers.

All the talk about Dontrelle Willis not getting into the ASG and then him finally getting in because Brown went down, I hope that he does well.

Marlins taking the ESPN.com front page for an entire night and most of the morning...alright alright. Looks like the Marlins might be gaining some steam for the second half...

I can only dream!!

Why the excitement? He's not really any better than Braden Looper.

Marlins are overusing their starters. Redman can't continue to throw 130 pitches every start, and be effective at the end of the season.

The same thing is happening with the Cubs. Prior is already starting to get struggle. He's only 22 and you have to be careful with young pitchers.
