Thanks Nevermortal, Will it be one time affair or will he be staying awhile?

He should be wrapping up "Walking Tall" soon, probably returning full-time after Summerslam or Unforgiven (the next RAW PPV) - he'll leave after Wrestlemania XX, to do "Spy Hunter" (?). This run will be similar to the one he had in 2001, working Summerslam with Booker, all the way up until Wrestlemania X-8, leaving quietly in the night.

The Rock recently did an interview on Vancouver's "Rock 101" with host Robin LaRose. Below are some highlights that I have re-written from a report originally published on 1Wrestling.com.

- The Rock confirmed that he will be on WWE RAW as soon as he is in the same city as the show is. Rock said that he will be at the RAW in Hollywood on July 21st and that show will set up a match for RAW in Vancouver on August 4th.

- Rock said that he would not be at SummerSlam, despite it being one of his favorite events.

- Rock said that he plans on returning to WWE full time in January of 2004 and will be a part of WrestleMania XX in New York.

He is in Canada; Bret Hart's Home town :)

Shooting "Walking Tall" which also stars Johnny Knoxville. This movie has Road House written all over it.

He is booked for Two Raw shows in the next couple Months...

He is coming in for the Hollywood Raw to set up a angle/match for a Raw three weeks later in Vancouver I think...

Rock will NOT do Summer Slam..

The plan is for him to only do Raw if both Raw and Himself are in the same town or close (I.E Whenever they hit Western Canada and Cali.)

He returns full time by Rumble for a Mania Run...

Does he have another movie in the works until then?

I can't see the shooting of the film taking longer than 4-5 months.

Full time after Jan 2004 huh. I wonder who they would be able to set him up with by that time, Brock, Angle, HHH (hope not, beendown that road too many times), or Goldberg again if he's actually still in the company by then?

You know...

If they go ahead and put the title on Jericho and go for it with RVD...

Rock/HHH would be PERFECT for Mania...

They have the built in history and you really don't need to sell that match too much...

HHH would drop the title to Jericho or RVD if he was promised to go over Rock at Mania

Which would look more significant then beating random elevated for a month Mid-carder #243.

Although Rock is going back to Smackdown at some point

That's what Rock needs to do...Become a Floater.

Remember he doesn't have a contract with either company but only Vince McMahon (At least that is the impression I got from Rock's Raw debut in March)...

You bring in on Raw and Either have him rub X or Orton...

He goes back about 7 times in the fall and winter for Raw with Sporadic wrestling and let him go to Smackdown full time and build for the I QUIT Match at Mania with Benoit...

"Walking Tall" stars the Rock...in a western. How weird is that?

Anyway, since the Rock has said over and over, that he's beaten everybody, I think a WM match between him and HBK should happen. Its never been done before and they're both popular. Rock Vs. Michaels = potential classic.

This run will be similar to the one he had in 2001, working Summerslam with Booker, all the way up until Wrestlemania X-8, leaving quietly in the night.

What was his last match in early 2002? I remember him being on SD a few times before just being suddenly gone a few weeks heading into Backlash.

His last match in 2002 was defeating Chris Jericho on the first ever split Smackdown!.

They didn't shoot an angle to explain his departure since they felt that the fans knew why he was gone and it'd be pointless

I remember it now. Good match, as usual from both of them. Well, actually wouldn't his last match in 2002 have been against Brock Lesnar? :P

On the movie front:

Right now he is currently filming "Walking Tall" co-starring Johnny Knoxville.

After the Raw appearances, he will be out promoting "The Rundown" co-starring Seann William Scott and Christoper Walken.

Christopher Walken always plays a great villain and Sean Scott is always a comedy relief (except for Final Destination, they made him a bitch in that movie). The movie sounds interesting. Damn it, I wanna see a trailer already!

Anyway, it just pisses me off how the Rock is one of WWE's biggest stars and he never got his great WM moment. Everybody wanted him or Mick Foley to win. That was their night! And what does Vince do? He lets HHH win, who gets his great WM moment 2 years later, those two assholes!

I thought his movie with Seann Scott was Hell Dorado? I hate when they change the names like that

Make the Rock a Floater...

You mean a "floater" between both RAW & Smackdown? How could the WWE explain it? "Smackdown is the Rock's show, so he will be there!" Perhaps have him sign with both GM's?

Then again, the WWE wouldn't even have to explain it I guess. They don't explain a lot of things.

Actually, it got changed after "Helldorado" to "Welcome to the Jungle" before changing again. I believe the reasoning was so that they could use the Guns N' Roses song of the same name. Someone correct me if I'm misinformed.

::does a happy dance::

Rock is going to be at the Raw I'm going to. Wohoo! Hopefully that means it will be a special Raw, therefore a good Raw.

Having never been a real big fan of the guy, i can honestly say he needs to come back. Sure, he tends to bury guys on the mic (Booker, for instance, hasn't much recovered 2 years later. Damn Vince for believing promos, i guess), but he's the only guy at the top who's willing to put guys over (one could make a case for it being to his advantage, but does it matter?) & someone like Orton NEEDS it.

He can beat Foley at Survivor Series in a street fight. Maybe go over someone like Goldberg at Armageddon, providing he's still around. Then it could lead to a Rock-Orton match at Rumble, Orton goes over. Rock jumps to SD!, then rebuilds Benoit or Rhyno or someone for a Mania match, & makes whoever it is either look really good (ie to get a Benoit post Rumble reaction) or go over so he can bow out.

RAW needs Rock. As long as he keeps the edge he had as a heel (which turned him face by proxy), i have no problem. Besides, a Goldberg or HHH main would pop a rating.

The Rock isn't under an "Brand" contract anymore because Vince McMahon waived it and granted him permission to go where he wants...

I agree, WWE needs the Rock, I agree with the idea of him becoming a floater, RAW needs him just as bad as Smackdown does. Interesting what new feuds await when he comes back, but personally, I 'm not interested in seeing a Rock/Goldberg rematch.

Me Either.

If anything, I wanna see a Rock Vs Ceana match.
