Guest Deviant Report post Posted July 12, 2003 Hey guys, I'm new and suck at banners, but was wondering if anyone here would like to throw one together. I really don't care what you do with it, go nuts. The general idea I'm after if something rather dark, with "Deviant on it somewhere. Some wrestlers that would be cool are Raven and Christopher Daniels, but any ROH talent such as Styles, Low Ki and CM Punk etc wouldn't be a bad thing either(although a pic of Ki where he doesn't have a stupid look on his face is practically impossible to find). I think I would prefer a fancy blackletter/old english type font for my name. I'll find some pics now that should help you guys out, I have liked the vast majority of things made by La Parka and the Architeck, so I appreciate you both volunteering. Don't feel forced to use a combination of them, or forced to use someone like Raven since I gave them more focus. In fact, Jericho is perhaps my fave overall and he didn't get much good stuff at all. I'll stop inadvertantly milking this for my tiny post count. Edit: Figured I shouldn't post directly after that last comment. Architeck, trust me, I LOVE your stuff, I've been lurking here for ages and ages... It's guys like you that make it easy for me to say go nuts, and that I trust your artistic instincts/style/input/word I can't think of/whatever. Guest Deviant Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I'm glad having so many links wasn't entirely pointless and insane, I figured that by giving you more to choose from, it would give you more freedom to make whatever you wanted or thought would look cool. I don't really have any huge ideas for what I'm after, because after all it is your time and effort that is going into this. Your sig is a good example of how something cool can be created from something so simple, like that one pic. So a compilation of promo pics, like La Parka made, is very cool, but I'm sure you have ways to lay them out. Since you said the more info the better, I'll just give my random thoughts which probably won't help. I think I would prefer a current Raven pic so that he has his blonde hair and such, not because I prefer the look itself, but just for the sake of being current. However with a dark theme, the depressed pic might work, and I can never go past the crucifix promo shot, it's one of my fave promo pics ever. However, any of the blonde ones also work for a compilation type banner, which is probably still the best idea I could come up with, which is why I'm turning to you. I love the Curry Man gimmick, but it may not fit in with some of the other pics, unless it contrasts well. I definately like the hat picture. Like the depressed Raven would go on the left, that one would really work on the edge. Anyway, I won't go through them, I'm just hoping you're getting the pathetically simple idea that I have. They would be set out as if it's \\\\||//// if that makes any sense. Good/Fave pics for the left: Low Ki serious, Shane's Euro, Corino's promo, Hurri-pose and typical cocky Eddy. Middle: Raven braids, Raven crucifix, Jericho's silohette and maybe Sasuke. Right: Liger, Hurricane's grin, Angle's promo, Dragon, Curry Man and his hat and AJ Styles. I know this doesn't narrow it down at all, but hopefully it will be of some use. My main fear is of it getting way too cluttered. And as I said above, and Old English-style fancy font for my name would be cool and it can go along the bottom just like La Parka did. Colour isn't important, as long as it is visible against the pics. A background isn't of much importance either I guess. But as I said, this is just my lame compilation idea in my head, if you have any sort of creative thing you want to try, do it. Ten bucks says I prefer it to this idea. Thanks again. I never like asking for favours, bad character flaw I guess, so I wanted to at least prove to myself that I couldn't do it or get anywhere near where I wanted. I don't know how, or more accurately where, to upload a pic... Well, I think it looks pretty good as far as erasing the background is concerned. There are not that many jagged edges that I can pick up on and the background is now just plain black. However, I seemed to have failed miserable at combining the pictures. I could only past them entirely over another, so a few body parts are very clearly missing. If you know how I can get it to you, or are willing to give me your e-mail address so I can send it as an attachment, then that would be cool. Otherwise, just let me know if and when it's done.
