Guest JMA Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 It premiered on MTV last night wih two episodes. I thought it was great. The animation was breath-taking.
Guest Eagan469 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I liked it. The animation is nifty and the storylines follow the movie plot well enough. Doogie Howser does a nice job with Peter's voice.
Guest Prototype450 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I forgot to watch it. From what I've heard it was a good show.
Guest DerangedHermit Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 The animation's pretty good (except for Harry and MJ), and I liked the freak of the week approach here.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Is it re-airing this weekend? I know MTV loves to do that.

Guest wildpegasus Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 It's following the movie script? Curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses, curses! Anyway, does anyone know if any Canadian channels are picking the show up?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I caught the end of one of the episodes last night. I liked the animation, although I don't know the technical term for it (kind of an ultra cel-shade or something). Doogie is a pretty good Pete, and I also like Lisa Loeb as MJ. Gonna try to catch em both this weekend.
Guest Prototype450 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Yea the animation does look very cel shady( I made I new word! Gotta do Barry Horowitz's pat on the back).
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 They've done a crappy job promoting it. Cause I haven't seen anything reciently for it. While I'm all for a new Spiderman series. How long till MTV just drops music all together.
Guest Lethargic Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 The first episode was pretty crappy. Poorly written kiddie crap. The second one was much better. The dialogue was still pretty bad but it was better. The animation was pretty much crap. Better than other CG shows I've seen but still not good. The characters looked fine but the backgrounds and the city looked terrible.

Guest Karnage Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Anyway, does anyone know if any Canadian channels are picking the show up? I know how you feel man...if it does come it should take a year. But theres always Kazaa!

The first one was Electro, I think. It was some dude that got hit by lightning and became electrified so I GUESS it was Electro. Didn't look like any Electro I've ever seen and they never called him that and I don't know what his alias is supposed to be in the comics, but I think it was supposed to be him. I hope the whole series won't be like the first two episods where they introduce a villain quickly and then kill them off even quicker. I would rather that they do two parters, since they show them back to back anyway, so the storylines could be more fleshed out. Basically the first two episodes were both "introduce a villain, have them fight Spidey and lose". That's it. They'll be out of villains after one season at that rate. From the episode list, the only 2 parter they have is the last two episodes of season one. I really don't look forward to seeing the whole Connors/Lizard storyline being crammed into 20 minutes of air time next week. Hell if you take 5 minutes of the show out for the obligatory Peter/MJ/Harry BS, then you've only got 15 minutes to have Parker hook up with Connors, explain Connors back story, have him do his experiment, become the Lizard, Peter fight the Lizard, find out who the Lizard is, on and on. That's a lot of story to try to cut down to just a few minutes.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Don't expect anything as good as the BruceTimm/Paul Dini animation shows. It's okay, but I'd still rather have the awesome 90's Spider-Man cartoon then this shit.

It's okay, but I'd still rather have the awesome 90's Spider-Man cartoon then this shit. What pisses me off is that Fox and Marvel ended that great Spider-Man cartoon and then turn around a few months later and give us that awful Spider-Man Unlimited. Why couldn't they just like the other one keep going instead?
Guest Vyce Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 It was better than I thought it would be. But I thought the animation was SHIT. Not "THE shit", just shit.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I saw part of the second episode and liked it. If I can remember when it's on, I'll tune in.

It's okay, but I'd still rather have the awesome 90's Spider-Man cartoon then this shit. Yeah that was by far the best Spider-Man. Of course, that's not saying much considering the competition. Just out of curiosity, how did that series end? I seem to remember the alternate universe Spideys and Stan Lee's cameo. Either that or when the superheros (Spidey, Black Cat, Iron Man, Capt. America, Fantastic Four) battle the supervillains (Lizard, Dr. Doom, Doc Oc, and... someone else) on that alien planet.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 The Stan Lee cameo was the last episode Spidey defeated his evil clone from the parallel universe and then went webslinging with Stan the Man.
Guest Lethargic Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I hated the 90's Spiderman because it was nearly impossible to watch if you didn't watch it from the start. They had so many multi episode storylines with 2 or 3 that went the entire season length that you were confused if you started late. The whole clone wars one was really terrible. If you missed any of that you were screwed.
Guest pochorenella Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I liked Spider-Man Unlimited. I can't be the only one, can I?
Guest JMA Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 The first villain WAS Electro. Max Dillon was his name (the same real-name Electro has in the comcs). I'm glad they lost the suit.

Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 The animation sucked, the story lines sucked and the dialouge sucked. Worst cartoon on MTV since Diarreaha (Cha Cha Cha!)
Guest Lethargic Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Have you looked at the schedule for the show? I just saw it and MTV appears to be showing the entire series out of order for some stupid reason. Next week is episode 4 and 7 Followed by 10 and 3 Followed by 5 and 6 Followed by 9 and 12 Then episode 13 the last week.
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 I thought the animation was terrible.
Guest Big_Jay101 Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 i dont like Peter Parkers voice and i dont like the animation to computery for me
Guest lomasmoney Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 WHo was EVE robbing in the third episode(the one with that hi tech thief chick) She had a MTV movie award in her hand so it must have been some one famous. I didn't know fuckin Ian Ziering did a voice on this show. Am i the only one who thinks the theme song should be changed to something a little more...........rock and roll. The techno music is just to techno-y.
