Guest Renegade Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I remember way way back playing on my friends import NES system and he had this soccer game. And the game was set out like an RPG. You would guide your player around the pitch until you were tackled by the opponent (like a random battle). Your player was then given menus to either pass, dribble or shoot. If you had special characters you could do super shots and whirling shots. I was thinking of trying to track down a rom of this game but the problem is I have no clue what the name is. I do know it was based on an 80's anime where teenagers played international football, complete with over the top flips and bicycle kicks that could rip the net. I also know that there were two games based on the anime, the first was translated into a NES game called "Tecmo cup".

I don't remember the anime, but did the characters in the game look the same as the guys in River City Ransom?
Guest Renegade Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 As razaztca said it was Captin Tsubasa. I didnt know there were SNES games released so I downloaded them and boy just as good if not better than the NES versions. All you need to do is use a faq to recognise the symbols and its a very very playable game
