Guest Aero Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Just watched Die Hard 2, which I haven't seen in years, on TV. I always knew that it wasn't the best (at least IMO), but it was alot better than I remembered. Unfortunately, I had to sit through the censored version. Anyway, many say that Vengeance is the best, but I have to go with the classic first one barely. In the first, I liked the plot more, as you think that McClane doesn't have a hope in the world of getting out of the building alive. And that's why the movie is so great, is because of the closed environment of a 40 story (correct?) skyscraper. Vengeance has a great plot as well, but the first is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 (edited) My order of this series is 1, 3, 2. I just love Hans Gruber in the first movie. Interestingly enough, I had the first one on while packing some stuff earlier today. Did you know there's going to be a Die Hard 4?... http://us.imdb.com/Title?0337978 Plot Outline: McClane and his daughter get involved in a terrorist plot while on a Caribbean holiday. Filming will start in early 2004 for a summer 2005 release Edited July 13, 2003 by kkktookmybabyaway
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 First one and it's not even close. Although I love 2 and 3.
Guest El Satanico Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Easily the first. I hated the third and the second was decent.
Guest Choken One Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 3 was flat out fun... 2 was just *there* 1 Owns your ass...
Guest Lightning Flik Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 1st one was really great for what it was. 2nd one was kinda just "Sequel just because we can" 3rd one was goodness.
Guest caboose Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 The first one buries the other two by a landslide
Guest Choken One Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 but the first two didn't have Ultra Cool Sam Jackson motherfuckers...
Guest caboose Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 but the first two didn't have Ultra Cool Sam Jackson motherfuckers... But the first one had that black cop and he was hilarious...
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 i never got into 3, don't know why. 2 is good, and 1 is the best
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I like 2 because its the only one I've seen.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Now I have a machine gun... Ho ho ho...
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 The original is almost always the best. Although, 3 was pretty entertaining as well.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 In order: 1) With a Vengeance 2) Die Hard 3) Die Hard 2
PsychoDriver Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I liked them all.... but Part One was the best
Guest Mikey2Dope Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Easily #1. An easy 10/10 from me and #2 on my all time Top 20 list.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 The 1st. It was the first and best of the everyman hero action flicks.
Guest NoCalMike Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I'd say my order is 1-2-3......oh and this DVD box set is a fucking MUST HAVE. Tons of extras including a feature that allows you to re-edit certain scenes.......Cool shit.
Guest spiny norman Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I'm going as a mindless sheep with the majority in saying 1-3-2. With A Vengeance had a premise that could have actually made it better than the original but I don't think it was executed as well as it could have been. Though it was still quite good. The original is just brilliant though.
Guest Inner Heel Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 the one where john get pulled into an act of terrisim, because someone wants money. oh the one where he says whippy kiyay (sp?) mother f*cker
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 the one where john get pulled into an act of terrisim, because someone wants money. oh the one where he says whippy kiyay (sp?) mother f*cker That joke could've worked had it not read like a 6 year old typed it.
Guest NCJ Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I think 2 gets slept on a little when you look back at it, but the way he brings down the plane is absolute gold. P.S. Any movie that has John "James Evans" Amos the father from 'Good Times' gets extra credit from me. Coming to America and Die Hard 2 the guy is box office gold.
