Guest Karnage Report post Posted July 13, 2003 Canadian television sucks. Global is simulcasting CBS's coverage of a race that takes place in Canada! Anyone know why they are doing this? Its kindof sad nowadays when we got TSN simulcasting hockey games and one of the major Canadian networks simulcasting a race in their own country.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted July 13, 2003 They save an assload of money if they don't have to produce the race themselves and just run their own ads. But yeah, it is pretty sad, and I especially dislike it when TSN uses ESPN's feed for hockey games, too.

And it will be easier for TSN to get games off of ESPN feed, instead of bringing an actual broadcast team to the game.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted July 13, 2003 Oh, I realize that, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Guest Karnage Report post Posted July 13, 2003 TSN does have enough money to make every game their own coverage. They could stop doing those painfully unfunny puppet segments and those 1000 variations of the Silver Cup song. Those gimmicks aren't needed for a hockey game. And it will be easier for TSN to get games off of ESPN feed, instead of bringing an actual broadcast team to the game. They also simulcasted off other american networks like MSG.
