Indeed he did. Leap of Faith is a pretty good movie... not that I'm vouching for it's accuracy or anything.

Little in the bible is cemented as fact. To view the 'facts' in the book requires belief in it, and therefore is fallable. Facts are something that there is absolutely no doubt by anyone.

Examples: "This rock is hard." "Ice is cold." "Water is wet."

Absolutely no one can argue those statements. They are fact. Unfortunately, those are about the only true facts there are. Many of the thoughts we grasp and clutch to our feeble minds as truth are personally unfounded. We have not seen them nor experienced them personally, so they are not truly facts. It is simply comforting to believe that there is some stability in this world.

We don't have real evidence that God even exists...It's merely psychological institution that we hold onto.

I'm not Pentecost, DH. My church actually has little do do with supernatural gifts (not a disbelief, we just don't have very many vocal, gifted people that we know of). I don't believe that the only sign that you're sealed with the Spirit is tongues, not at all, if that's what you're talking about.

I look forward to what you've got, buddy.

Not succesfully. Or more aptly, not against me.

oh, ye of little faith.

i could go the descartes "evil genius" angle, the hume "riddle of induction" angle, or the wittgenstein "language doesn't even adequately describe the world" angle.

pick your poison.
