Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Which is the loudest pop you ever heard? Honorable mentions? My honorable mention first just to give props to my boy. Triple H recieved a killer pop (probably the loudest he ever will) when he returned. What really put a smile on my face though was this: I was pretty satisfied when his music hit and he recieved a decent pop. When the man actually emerged from behind the curtains though the noise increased tenfold. I could not stop grinning. It lasted forever too. Nice sustain. Apologies for my mark moment. The loudest I ever heard definitely belongs to Stone Cold (appropriately enough). It was the night that Mankind won his first WWF title. Stone Cold had been out for quite some time. Mankind had been led down to the ring by DX and the Rock was accompanied by the Corporation. Towards the end of the match the action started to pick up in the ring. The crowd started going off. Then DX and the Corporation start going at it outside of the ring and the crowd must have double the decibal level. Out of nowhere you hear the glass break and the place FUCKING GOES OFF! Loudest god damn thing I ever heard. The only complain I had about that evening was that Austin polished off the Rock with a chair shot instead of a stunner. Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 30, 2002 I've only been to a few live events, but the loudest pop I heard was at Breakdown: In Your House - in Hamilton, Ontario of all places - when everyone realized that the Rock was gonna do a DOUBLE People's Elbow on Shamrock and Mankind. They usually did the panning around the fans when Austins music hit and you could see everyone jump up and cheer. Those were the loudest pops I've ever heard. I still remember watching that and getting goosebumps. As for in person, it would have to be when Hogan came down to the ring to help the Rock at the first SmackDown after WM. BTW, does anyone remember the pop that Goldberg got when he came back to fight Tank Abbott? I remember that getting quite a loud reaction (for WCW at least). Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Not the loudest, but most surprising pop I've ever heard was for Triple H at WM12, back when he was still the blueblood. Of course, the reason they popped was because he was facing the Ultimate Warrior and everyone was hugely anticipating his return; which is another reason I list this. I've never heard a pop for someone's opponent because they knew who was coming out next, it was pretty cool. And when Warrior did actually come out, it was pretty deafening. Honorable mention goes to that time when O'Haire and Palumbo ran in and the WWF B-Teamers just beat the living shit out of them. The crowd went hoss. Austin at WM14, Hogan at WM3 and WM18 and Austin at Over the Edge 98 are some of the loudest i heard. At WMX when they introduce Owen they announce: From Calgary, Alberta Canada. Ric Flair when he made his return to Nitrowhen he and all the horsemen were wearing tux's was a big one too. Almost every time Bret Hart wrestled in Canada from the time he won his first world tittle on. the guy's like a god up here in canada especially in alberta. I can still remember waiting in anticipation of the main event and hearing the glass break and BAM! you can't hear the music anymore because the crowd is drowning it out. Runner-up would be Flair's return to Nitro in 98. I had been in apretty anti-WCW place back then and when I hear the Nature Boy's music hit and then saw all the Horsemen come out, I marked like a lil bitch and the crowd reaction was AMAZING. Flair biting his lip hard enough to draw blood while trying to keep his composure while listening to the pop is an image I'll never forget. Foley's first title win ranks up there, too. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Well for anyone that's seen Super J Cup 94...I was just watching it again and the crowd went pretty hoss when Benoit gut wrenched The Great Sasuke off the top rope and got the pin. Sasuke was going up, Benoit went for a backdrop but Sasuke elbowed him off, the crowd started getting ancy, Sasuke posed and Lyger started yelling at him to quit posing and nail Benoit then......Benoit stood up and the fans started standing, Benoit went up and grabbed Sasuke around the waist and at this point most of the fans knew what was going to happen and then Benoit gut wrenches him and everyone goes nucking futs.
