Batman: The Animated Series DVD

Recommended Posts

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen

The new Batman: The Animated Series DVD comes out the 22nd, and I need help with something. What episodes will be on the thing.

You see, if they go in order (as they have been) it should be:

1. Two-Face: Part 1 Villain: Two-Face, Rupert Thorne

2. It's Never Too Late Villain: Rupert Thorne

3. I've Got Batman In My Basement Villain: The Penguin

4. The Cat and the Claw: Part 1 Villain: Catwoman, Red Claw

But they' wouldn't put two cliffhangers on the DVD, and they seem to be advertising Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, and The Penguin on the case. So what gives? Does anyone know what episodes will be in the third Batman: TAS DVD?

I'm thinking they'll go with five episodes like they did with Volume 1. They only did four for Volume 2 because if they had gone with five, the Two-Face cliffhanger would have been the last episode on there. So I'm thinking they'll end up going with five, which is still ridiculous since it'll take a long while for the whole series to come out at either rate.

See this right here is why EVERYONE hates Warner Bros. They can't give us box sets with extras of B:TAS, which I can live with. THEY CAN'T EVEN ANNOUNCE THE EPISODES ON THE DAMN DVD.

No, it says on the cover they're going with four and even if they went with five the last episode would be "Heart of Ice".

Off-Topic: My favorite ep of the series has to be the Riddler debut with the maze. What's your fav. episode?

The Columbia House TV Greats Club has Batman: TAS on DVD but they aren't in order.

WB isn't releasing them in box set form since it's seen as a show that's watched mainly by kids, or at least that's what I think. For whatever reason, they believe that only kids watch the cartoons they have rights to, and thus, they release the crappy single-disc prints since they figure it's the kids who are buying them anyway.

As far as favorite episodes way to many to count. The two part Clayface debut has two be up there. When I was young there was something that was just disturbing about the scene where the bad guys drowned him in the facial cream. Other picks: Any both episodes with the Ninja, The one where the mad hater kidnaps Batman and puts him in this device that gives him everything he ever wanted in his mind. (Perhaps the Wachowskis secret insperation for the Matrix???), Or the one with the Batman android that was built by HARDAC that dosen't know he is an android.

The opening scene of Heart of Ice is the standout in my view. The way they shower Mr. Freeze made me feel so sorry for him in the end.
