The Futures Game

Recommended Posts

Guest Vern Gagne

Anyone watch this year? I only caught the tail end, but it's a good showcase for future All-Star talent. Zito, Buerhle, Dunn, Berkman amongst others have played in previous games. This year the pitching was being praised. That's great news that so many talented young pitchers are so highly thought of. It sucks that the Twins don't have any, but Joe Mauer most of called a great game today. If that means anything.

Smitherman hit and a double and the game winning home run, so yes the reds were represented.

Another OF/1B. I know the Reds could use a couple more.

Gammons said Greinke had the best stuff in the game yesterday.

Does Cincy not understand the concept of the PITCHER's position...

Jesus...I mean It's nice to have options to play around with but FUCK IT ALL TO HELL!

WE DO NOT NEED 18 outfielder/1B and 4 pitchers and a Catcher...

SPREAD IT OUT BOONE!

Who the Reds have in their minors isn't really Boone's fault. They need to draft better pitchers, and Bowden needs to go out and get a couple of good starters.

The Twins have the same problem. Everyone of the prospects except Joe Mauer, is a OF or 1B. Besides J.D. Durbin the pitching isn't strong.

I guess and No offense...Minn doesn't have the Offensive POWER like Cincy

so it's even more annoying/Frustrating with Cincy since the guys will give you 8 runs but the pitching will give up 12...

No It's not Boone's fault for those players being there...

It IS his fault for his counter-productive Micro-Management that pretty much crippled the reds for this season...

The Twins just find a away to lose. Blow out, pitchers duel, high scoring. Whatever it takes they'll find away.

Yeah...What happened to The Twins?

I don't follow the A.L so I didn't realize this...

They looked great last year and the start of the season but I look up and see they lost eight in a row and like are 1-14 or something?

Did they get Injury crazy?

Everything has imploded. Starting pitching, bullpen, clutch hitting is gone. The season's a total loss. They play .600 ball the rest of the year that's only 85 wins. K.C. might be inexperiecned but they have a 7.5 game lead over the Twins and the Twins are 5 under with only 69 to go. Twins aren't catching anyone. Time to get rid off some dead weight. Guzman, Romero, Guardado, Mohr, and Rivas.

I only caught the very end of them as ESPN did a great job of promoting the game...as in no promotion at all. Sad thing too because Rich Harden of the A's started the game. The Royals will get to the see the next big thing in A's pitching a week from today in Harden's debut.

How did the Mets players do there? (I think it was Justin Huber and Royce Ring there for them)
