Newbits of the day, before raw

Guest Trivia247

Thanks to Bill Yanney for the following report:

I wanted to give you quick results from the house show in Terre Haute IN last night.

1. Maven pinned Rico after a very awkward off the top rope DDT. Rico set up like he was going to do a Blockbuster, but he hit a DDT, which made it look bad, but the crowd still popped for it. Crowd was about half-cheers, half-boos for Rico at the beginning, but he was full heel by the end of the match. Oh, and Jackie Gayda is HOT!

2. Lance Storm pinned Garrison Cade after a superkick. Storm tried to play boring, but the crowd could never get a unified chant going. Cade got a nice reaction after the match, which caused him to turn, somewhat surprised, and acknowledge the crowd as he was headed to the back.

3. Rodney Mack and Mark Jindrak beat Tommy Dreamer and Rosey. The reason Jindrak was with Long was because he was a WCW tag champ when he got to WWE but now the man is holding him down. That's less stupid than most reasons they could've used. Decent match, of course I'm a huge Dreamer mark, so I popped for all he did. While the ref was distracted, Long got in a low blow and the heels win.

4. Women's 3-way. Gail Kim beat Molly Holly and Trish. Val Venis was special ref and did intros. This was bad, bad, bad. Gail Kim is horrible. Everything she and Trish did was screwed up. The crowd was OK with it until she missed a dropkick by a foot that Trish sold anyway. The finish was supposed to be Trish outside, Gail on her back, and Molly getting rolled up. Instead, Molly did the flip for the rollup, but Gail never touched her, so Val counted 3 with Molly on her back and Gail not even touching her, still on her back. The crowd was completely baffled, but Val declared Gail the winner. Gail ran with her belt, Molly grabbed Trish on the outside and they did a bit ending with Trish throwing her out. She didn't get pinned and she didn't win, so play her music!

5. Next was HHH and Flair v Nash and RVD. However, HHH has an "injury of the occipital protuberance of the gluteus maximus." Personally, I think he was having conditioner issues. Actually, he has a leg injury. So, HHH out, Orton in. Nash has his hair in a ponytail, eliminating half his moves. I marked for Flair, other than that, not a lot. Nash powerbombed Orton for the win. As Fink tried to get a working mic, RVD had an ECW flashback and spent 15 min. slapping hands with everyone in the first 7 rows.

6. After intermission, Test took a beating from Scott Steiner after what you could call a reverse Rock Bottom (?). I've said this for 4 years, but Test needs to be a main eventer, he has the look, the selling ability and the mic skills, hopefully a heel run will give it to him. Test completely carried this match with his selling ability and mocking of Steiner. He also provided the comedy of the night when he put on Scott's headgear, but got it caught on an ear ring when he tried to take it off. He and Charles Robinson spent about a minute getting it removed from his head.

7. Next was the highlight reel, Jericho mocks Austin, Austin gets in his what's. they drink beer, Austin stuns Jericho, next. On a side note, why is he drinking Natural Light, who does he think he is, Larry Eustachy, did I mention I hate Iowa St.? I know they're using these segments to spike house show attendance, but they do nothing for me.

8. Booker T beat Christian in a basic match with the axe kick. You've seen it if you've seen any of their TV matches.

9. La Resistance beat the Dudleys. I wonder about the deterioration of our society when everyone on the show cusses but the Dudleys use "crap." It was a sad moment for the ECW fan in me. Afterward, Spike did the run-in and one of the guys went through a table.

It was a fun show, the crowd, though small, was into every match.

Recap Of Mick Foley on The Pain Clinic Saturday July 12th

Mick Foley comes on the show and gives us “the business” for stealing a little of His cheap pop.

Mick starts talking about his book and the publicity he has gotten since it came out(i.e. Today Show and USA Today.)

Mick talks about some things in the book that came from life’s experiences and other came from stories from friends in the business (Mick’s hands are full with lil’ Mick during the interview).

Mick talks about he wants to do signings at wrestling shows in the future but right now he is doing book stores on his tour.

Mick talks about the creation of the recording for the audio version. He realized that he had fun recording the evil characters when he was doing it and it would be easy to do a “heel” character again.

Mick talks about the setting of the book (Conestoga, NY. not far from Rochester) and his familiarity with the area is why he used it as a setting.

Mick talks about working with Ric Flair recently after his first 2 books said some unpleasant things about him and his booking style. He hasn’t had a real sit down with Ric, but he will in the future.

Mick talks about his thoughts on Hogan and Flair remaining in the spotlight after their prime. Some real insight into what Mick would do if he had the WWE’s book.

Mick mentions his next book about baseball and relates the baseball player to the wrestlers who are past their prime but continue because their love of the business.

Mick talks about his Today show appearance and how Katie Couric could be heard laughing to Mick’s jokes off camera during the interview.

Mick talks about a house he owns burning to the ground in Florida. Mick hasn’t lived in this house in a few years but he had great memories of the home. Mick was a little upset that TV channels teased the fire with “a tragedy strike the Foley family” and it was a bit misleading.

Mick takes a call about hardcore wrestling and Howard Stern. Mick expresses his opinion that hardcore wrestling strictly couldn’t survive as a program with 100% hardcore action. He said he wanted to get on Howard Stern’s but they didn’t call back when he expressed interest in coming on.

Mick talked about possible having “Tietam Brown” made into a movie and how he would have a meeting with producers this week. We suggest the Rock but Mick said he doesn’t envision Rocky as Tietam.

Mick plugs www.mickfoley.com and touches on some stuff he’s working on and his possibilities of coming back to WWE before he leaves the show.

The interview can be heard on www.feelthepain.net.

CAUTION NEXT SEGMENT CONTAINS SORTA SPOILERS

# After working Friday's house show in Omaha, NE, Triple H wasn't able to compete on Saturday in Green Bay or last night in Terre Haute, IN. The reason is because he reportedly suffered a leg injury, believed to be some sort of bruise. He still appeared at the two house shows he was advertised for, working as a "corner man". The injury is not believed to be too serious and he should be ready to compete on tonight's RAW.

# Gail Kim vs. Molly Holly for the Women's Championship has been announced for tonight's RAW.

# The two masked men who wrestled Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman at last night's Smackdown taping have been identified as OVW's Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway.

(Thanks to 1wrestling.com)

# According to WWE sources, not too many wrestlers are sad to see Hulk Hogan leave the company. He was said to be very selfish in that he only cared about his push and had absolutely no concern for the other wrestlers.

# The tentative plan for Summer Slam is to have Rey Mysterio defend the Cruiserweight Title against Billy Kidman.

# Goldberg's arm infection is likely to keep him out of the ring for tonight's RAW.

Motherfuckers...

2. Lance Storm pinned Garrison Cade after a superkick.

lol, Lance Vs. Lance

3. Rodney Mack and Mark Jindrak

Jindrak hasn't impressed since the old WCW days. Anyway, I miss Mack / Nowinski. I hope Mr. Harvard recovers.

9. La Resistance beat the Dudleys.

THIS was the main event?!!

According to WWE sources, not too many wrestlers are sad to see Hulk Hogan leave the company. He was said to be very selfish in that he only cared about his push and had absolutely no concern for the other wrestlers.

Ah yes, I still love Hogan's character, but Terry Bollea is still the greedy egomaniac backstage.

Man, wtf? Before the tag team match was announced for Vengeance (I'm guessing T.W.G.T.T. is gonna win at the PPV then), I thought it was gonna be Mysterio/Kidman at Vengeance. If they're gonna wait for SS for this, what about Ultimo/Mysterio? Fucking WWE...

How can I possibly take anything this guy who sent the house show report in seriously when he makes a comment like that.

Do they mean Test is going to main event an indy show or something?

I don't think even Jericho is salvagable as a main eventer anymore, much less a slug like Test.

What will Ultimo do?

He's small...and they've already booked Rey vs. Kidman to be their small person match.

Ultimo will do nothing.

Welcome to the show, Ultimo...save a seat for London.

And that, my friends, is why real men don't wear ear rings.

BTW, remind anyone of X-Seven?

Gail Kim is the most over hyped newcommer in a long time. I've seen her work. She's has indy talent at best and clueless on how to put on a match. She does pretty spots but tell her to work a give and take match and she's horrible.

Let's see if Molly Magic can save her but for how long.

Great, I suppose now we get to see Gail lose to the Fat Bitch...shit. Even if she was brought in too quickly, and the way they did it was messed up, she DOES have some good skill, especially for an American female wrestler (she looked real good on Confidential, IMHO).

So your complaining that the WWE isn't blowing their load right away, and may actually let the prospect of Ultimo/Rey simmer for a few months so that when they do clash it will mean that much more?

Alas I think your the guy who bitched that the WWE hasn't done Brock/Beniot yet as well *Sigh*

I guess we have different outlooks on how bookings should be laid out...

Remember how much Shawn vs Taker meant the 1st time they clashed because the 2 of them had remained in the same fed for 7 years without a 1 on 1 bout.... I think we can wait 7 months or so til WM XX and let Rey and Ultimo do there thing.

I'm just glad this didn't happen on RAW, because otherwise Trish would be 2-0 on botched finishes in the past two years.

Smark Diva Trivia: A little more than a year ago on July 8th, Trish and Jackie Gayda botched an intergender tag-match finish.

I'm afraid they're going to have to send Gail back to OVW to train... and then bring her back to valet. What? She's the Women's Champion? Damn.
