Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 15, 2003 As ROH as ROH "taking him" they would book him once a month. It's just an indy, it's not a steady source of income.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 If they want to do something with him, yet refuse to turn him face, here's an idea. Next week, Dreamer walks down to the ring for a match where he tags with Garrison Cade. Prior to it, he takes the microphone and begins speaking about being attacked by Kane. He talks about his legendary brawls in ECW, whatever he's done in the WWE, etc. Then he does the heel turning, "It all didn't mean SHIT" line. Dreamer shows the crowd a clip from when he was in the hospital. Both Rico and Dreamer are being stiched up, laying the hospital bed, etc. The Dudleyz come in, say, "Hey Tommy," and walk over to Rico to check on him. Hurricane comes in, does much the same. Or whatever the fuck they want to do. The whole point is that because Dreamer is such a "badass," his colleagues forget that he does feel pain and can barely get out of bed in the morning due to it. Tommy says that he's busted his ass for ten years in the business, and all he has is a near broken back, and absolutely nothing else to show for it. He takes the cane and cracks it over Cade's head, works him over some more, and DDTs him for the win. Dreamer then leaves the crowd, and WWE could decide what to do with him from there. Won't ever happen, and WWE would have to assume fans forgot about Buh Buh being so caring with him, but whatever...
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 15, 2003 That's almost a decient idea. But the idea of all the babyfaces checking on Rico while Tommy's alone is a little corny.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 That's almost a decient idea. But the idea of all the babyfaces checking on Rico while Tommy's alone is a little corny. That's right. We need Russo back with his philosophy of, "Everything is fake, but this, this is a SHOOT" so we can prevent that.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 a major point made here, is that Dreamer's WWE career may have been more in the spotlight had the Hardcore title still be around hell the Title actually got Blackman over and the guy was like wallpaper. its hard to put Dreamer into a catagory to go for any other title. He is a basic wrestler/brawler. the best attribute he's got is the ability to work the crowd. Another attribute is, damn it, he doesn't bitch. He goes out and jobs like crazy because he is doing it FOR the business he lets people go over without a second thought because he truly lives and breathes the business. Would put the likes of HHH to shame.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Triple H also truly lives and breathes the business. Dreamer is fine as is- He's a lower midcarder who can pop a crowd and give you a decent HEAT match.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 15, 2003 The crowd pops for the guy. I'd much rather they keep him then goddamn Rosie. Dusty Rhodes pops a crowd too. Doesn't mean WWE should sign him.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 The crowd pops for the guy. I'd much rather they keep him then goddamn Rosie. Dusty Rhodes pops a crowd too. Doesn't mean WWE should sign him. Dusty would get a pop the first few times he was used (just like every other dinosaur the wwe brings in) while Dreamer has gotten a good pop for a few years now. And Dreamer can still wrestle. The Dream cannot.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Hell, I'd take Dusty over Rosie
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 15, 2003 And Dreamer can still wrestle. The Dream cannot. Yes, but Dusty's character hasn't been destroyed. Dreamer's has.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 What do you mean his character? He is the same damn guy...This time he just doesn't have a childhood friend still bitching about Camp...
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 15, 2003 He has been made to look like a bitch by everyone he has feuded with except Nowinski and last I checked, Nowinski still fucking sucks and wasn't over save for the cheap heat tactics. In smarks eyes, Tommy is great. I have nothing personal against the guy. I loved his stint in ECW. However, he is fucked as a character in WWE because not even midcarders are letting him get over. He's a bottom feeder in WWE and I would just rather not see people attempt to resurrect a failed project like Dreamer in WWE. He's finished as a character in Vinceland. Face it. He isn't homegrown WWE and will always be seen as a bottom of the rung guy because he didn't start out with WWE. If Heyman still had any power, I'd have faith he might get some needed attention. Since that is not the case, it ain't happenin for Dreamer. See you on Heat, Tommy. When you're feeling down, come here. You're a martyr to smarks, Tommy. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah tommy go sacrifice your body for 790 people for low cost and little exposure... Forget about your kid's future and having a steady income of cash to support your fragile body when you age... That's right it was all worth it for those 750 people to go "We love you Tommy"
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Heat makes anyone looks good.. Hell when Haku was on heat people actually chanted his grunts and cheered him. for that one match at least They should just make Heat and Velocity two hours and let all the low midcarders wrestle

Forget about your kid's future and having a steady income of cash to support your fragile body when you age... That's right it was all worth it for those 750 people to go "We love you Tommy" I never said Tommy doesn't have the right to make a living for his family. I wish Tommy all the success in the world in wrestling so that he can support his family. I was saying as a character and a potential draw, Tommy is dead. If he's happy just spinning his wheels making a paycheck, more power to him. But I don't have delusions of granduer about Tommy somehow spearheading his way into main events on Raw. Hell, he can't find his way onto the midcard. Creative is never going to find anything for him because they don't care about him. That is a fact and there is nothing you can say that doens't really disprove that. He even got kicked off the creative team. (probrably for pointing out logic gaps) As a character, Tommy simply isn't going anywhere.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Nor should his character be taken anywhere... His body is fragile and isn't made to be a Top Tier guy...It was easy in ECW because you could mask his weakness. He is better off at his state of condition to just go and energize the crowd, which in all...was all he ever cared about...
Guest hosserific Report post Posted July 15, 2003 you know what they'll do with him.......some women (terri) will get harrased in the back by someone (test) then dreamer will try to save her, he'll get beat up resulting in a 3 week fued with him

He is better off at his state of condition to just go and energize the crowd, which in all...was all he ever cared about... That's much better. I don't have a problem with Dreamer knowing his role and accepting it. It's when members of the board get this notion that Tommy Dreamer is gold and how he should be main eventing. I say to those people, get real. Tommy has a lot of heart and the condition he's in, half of the roster would've already walked away. He's a good wrestling person. However in today's climate of WWE being the only way to make real money in the business, Dreamer is a bottom rung guy. If any of these people hope to see Dreamer in a top spot, their bets should be on him going to another company, cause WWE isn't it.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 All that dreamer is now is a good company man. no one can expect him to go to World title heights.. only thing we could have expected out of him is being a great Hardcore champ, but now there isn't even a Hardcore title. to a lesser extent being a tag team champ...with someone similar to him. beyond that...just some angle where he is a underdog face taking on someone powerful and overcoming them to the delight of the fans.. ah hell let him just be king of Heat! Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 15, 2003 I'm just happy that after all these years Tommy's in the top fed collecting a paycheck and getting a little tv time. Sure I'd like him to have a bigger role, but I can live with this.
