Austin had an infection at KOTR 1998.

 

So what? Can I say Savage/Austin is a bigger man, for working a show with an infection, to which I don't even know the extent/consequences of?

 

The trainers PULLED HIM under their discretion from the show. He didn't say "...well, it's a small injury - I better sit myself out for this one".

Goldberg had an arm infection. They don't want him wrestling so as not to do further damage to the arm.

Keep in mind that was a PPV match- He skipped all of the house shows leading up to it. He didn't wrestle the two RAWs before KOTR either.

Ummm...no. Post concussion syndrome, if treated unproperly, can lead to disastrous circumstances. Just ask Bret Hart. You can't, however, exacerbate an arm infection by wrestling. The act of wrestling doesn't facilitate the spreading of the infection.

The main concern here is not with Goldberg, or Austin, or Savage....it's with the opponents that are risking injury facing them.

The infection was drained from Goldberg's arm. An infection doesn't weaken the arm either; it just hurts. It doesn't eat away at the bone or anything, it's just painful.

 

Look, an arm infection isn't a broken arm, torn quadricep, pinched nerve, torn hamstring, or bulging disks. It's an infection; therefore, it is NO BIG DEAL.

Anyway, to answer your question - the workers below him on the card would probably be pissed, that's he taking home a cut of the house show attendance, especially when his appearances are non-advertised. That means that not only did the WWE not capatalize on his prescence, but they also take the pool of money from the gate (who didn't pay to see Goldberg) and gave a cut to Goldberg anyway.
